    Interesting experience
This is a really interesting museum which details in depth the significance and suffering for Australians who participated in the Vietnam war. It is well laid out and informative with lots of personal experiences documented. There is also a good collection of military memorabilia, military vehicles, weapons, helicopters, etc from that period. Definitely worth a visit. It also has a good cafe.
Dear Bfmcm, Thank you for taking the time to review the Museum. Each time someone does so it helps spread the word. We are so glad you enjoyed the experience and by the sounds of it also had a coffee and something to eat. Once again, thanks for the support Volunteers and staff

To say that we were pleasantly surprised would be a gross understatement.
While the exterior this museum is quite unassuming, its interior houses a wide variety of exhibits. These include many vehicles and aircraft. But what is most impressive are the items and their descriptions that serve to personalize the conflict. A movie frames the conflict in a way that brings it to life and helps one to better understand what transpired. It is a masterpiece not to be missed.
Dear Hellas, Yes it is often said, "don't judge a book by the cover" , so glad you came in. As for what else you wrote we couldn't have said it better. Well done and thank you so much for the well chosen words and the 5 stars. Kind regards Volunteers and staff.

    Worth a visit!
This is a must see on a trip to Phillip Island. This is a well presented museum of the Vietnam War and recognises the incredible service of all men and women in this conflict with deep respect. A very well put together and informative light show and volunteers were very helpful as well as knowledgeable.
Dear Kim, Thank you for the support and such kind words. Our aim is to recognize the contribution made from Australians in the conflict. Thank you for visiting this special place. Kind regards Volunteers and Staff

    A must visit place
Must visit place if you go to Phillip Island. Though it looks very small from outside, but inside is HUGE! it has good collection of not only small war weapons but has big planes, choppers, tanks, jeeps and much more. Also contains heart rendering diary entries of war heroes. Very well maintained and very deserving tribute to war heroes.
Dear 563arshik Thank you for taking the time to visit and also giving us a great revue. We always say to visitors, don't judge a book by the cover. you will be pleasantly surprised when you walk in. Kind regards Volunteers and staff.

A must see - a real eye opener to those who served their country
Run by volunteers this museum is a true tribute to the Vietnam War, for both surviving and passed Vietnam Veterans. We spend about an hour and half walking through. Definitely watch the video show as you walk in, gives perspective on the war that took many Australian lives.
Dear Chey79, Thank you for visiting and the great review. We all agree, sitting down and watching the film straight off gives you perspective for the rest of the museum. Kind regards Volunteers and staff.

Great facility with so much information and items on display.
A real credit to the organisers.
Very welcomed by Volunteers on arrival, even had a band playing in the cafe which was wonderful to listen to.
We arrived a bit late to enjoy a coffee and cake in the cafe, plus we spent so much time looking around the museum that I think it was time for them to go home.
Worth a visit for all ages

Third time to this museum and is a must to help learn about the Vietnam conflict .

The volunteers have a massive amount of knowledge and stories to match the incredible number of exhibits. There is something to learn every visit !

I have young kids and unless this was school visit don’t bring the little ones . Without the kids the other day I spent a relaxing 3 hours in the museum , using the portable audio guide for the first time too .

This museum is an absolute credit to the volunteers who run it, and make you feel so welcome. The Nui Dat Cafe is also worth including in your visit, the lady who served us was delightful, as was the food. The museum has a fantastic collection from the era, and is really interesting and worth taking the time to take it all in. I found the sound and light show very informative and at times moving. Well done to all concerned.

This just keeps getting better every time we go. The displays are comprehensive and being able to talk to actual veterans, who roam about, is a privilege. I love listening to their stories and getting those rare insights into this conflict.
They now have had held devices which you are able to point at codes at specific exhibits that will give you a spoken description and a bit more information about what you are looking at. Worth the extra $3.00
And make sure your visit includes at stop at the Nui Dat cafe. All the food is home made and well priced given that it is home made.
All the staff and volunteers make you feel so welcome.
This is a not for profit organisation so please do yourself a favour and stop in for a visit. You'll need at least an hour but can easily spend 2 with a break in the cafe to keep you going.

As a British person I didn't know too much about Australia's involvement in this war. The museum is very well done with lots of interesting exhibits and even a Canberra bomber being restored. I spent a couple of hours here but you could easily spend a lot longer. Has a gift shop and cafe too. Bought a couple of interesting books.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review of our Museum. There is certainly a lot of information and if you don't know about this period of Australian history, we can tell the stories of those who served. Thank you for visiting.

This is an outstanding museum with a profusion of materials on display. It will satisfy everyone, from visitors wanting to understand the personal aspects of this conflict through to those hoping to ogle the relevant military hardware, ranging from gigantic to small. The collection is astounding. Veterans, their relatives and Defence organisations have materially expressed their confidence in the place by donating an extraordinary range of items. You could, conceivably, spend just a few hours, but a day (10:00 to 5:00) would be a wiser investment of your time, as there's so much to see. There's great breakfast and coffee at the nearby shopping centre, a ten minute walk away. Good coffee, snacks and a very pleasing lunch are available at the museum, once open. Evening pizza at the nearby shopping centre is accurately rated as outstanding. V-line buses will get you to and from but travel by car will reduce down time.

My boys love the tanks. And I enjoy the special 3D introduction. It offered a lot of items that we didn’t see in other museums. It is a must go place for boys.
The cafe offers quick and delicious food with very good price. The souvenir shop offers very reasonable price products for the kids.

What an excellent museum covering so many aspects of the Vietnam War - the war against communism. The 18 minute light and sound show is a great introduction to the rest of the museum. So much to see, read and reflect on as you walk around. It acknowledges the contribution of the armed forces that fought in the war without glorifying it. There are plenty of land and air vehicles used in the war to check out as well as art work, an armoury, roll of honour, photo gallery, wartime entertainers, chemicals used in the war ( this is astounding) and NZ and Indigenous displays . A must see when visiting Phillip Island. Allow plenty of time and note that although the museum closes at 5pm, there is no entry after 4pm.

Vietnam is a name that evokes memories and this museum will reveal much about Australia's longest war. The museum has vast array of equipment, including helicopters, tanks, weapons and an armored personnel carrier (APC). The display concentrating on indigenous service men and women was very moving, they gave so much and received so little credit. This museum is marvelous, you could easily spend several hours here.

Brilliant museum with some wonderful exhibits. Friendly and very knowledgeable folk work here, you can tap into their experience or wander the space at your own pace. The whole place is dedicated with great respect to the veterans of this conflict, some very sad stories and tales of great heroism are to be found here. Lest we forget.
