Drive or walk to the lookout at the summit of Mount Leura to view the third largest volcanic plain in the world. Mt Noorat, Mt Elephant, Mt Kurweeton and Mt Meningoort are visible from the top, as are the hazy outlines of the Grampian Mountain Range.

Parked at the base and did the full trek up and back, such fantastic views, it was hot so glad we had water, also make sure you have fly repellant, lots of steps so you would need to be fairly fit, but worth it.

A great walk from the information centre behind the sports ground but also easily accessible by road. Great views of the lakes and crater. I think many travellers don't notice what the area has to offer

We took a driving break here on our way from Port Campbell to Melbourne. Since it was a beautiful day, we detoured off the main road and traveling up an interesting curving hill road to the top of Mount Leura. We learned that it was...More

You can walk up or drive to the top. Views are great and the walks are fairly easy. Get a leaflet from the Tourist Info Centre on Camperdown main street -- it will show the walks for Leura and Sugarloaf. But also checkout the other...More
