Taking a ferry directly from Circular Quay to Taronga Zoo, located in the suburb of Mosman, is the first unexpected joy of visiting the animal park. Once there, the leisurely trails and opportunity to see some of Australia's distinct wildlife become apparent, as does the striking view of the Harbour Bridge from the seating at the aerial bird show. Advance booking can give you the chance to see koalas up close, or stay overnight and 'camp' in the zoo.

I cant even begin to explain what a cool place Taronga zoo is! Although it was a wet and grey day, my partner had a blast getting in for $1 on his birthday! We did the koala encounter and a lot of the enclosures you actually get to walk freely with the animals! It was a great day out. The... More

After seeing the adverts we decided to take a trip to tarronga zoo, jumping on the ferry from circular quay, it was a short 15 minute ferry ride. Once we arrived, because we had already got our tickets we were able to jump on the cable car (safari ride!) rather than the bus to the main entrance. The map allows... More

Your have got to meet the animals at Taronga Zoo! Book the "Sydney Taronga Zoo Wild Australia Experience!" You'll be escorted to meet a small number of awesome animals but up-close and able to feed them! If you are especially lucky, you'll meet zookeeper Paul Davies who was our guide. I doubt there is a more enthusiastic, engaging, funny and... More

I hate to say it but we were disappointed in the Taronga Zoo. Granted, we went on a hot afternoon so many of the animals (gorillas, sun bear) were not out in their pens but overall they didn't have a huge variety of animals. We went to an animal preserve in N. Sydney days later and enjoyed it much more.... More

We set out after early lunch and took public transportation to the zoo from Sydney. Used google map for bus and ferry timings. Very reliable transportation. At the zoo, check out the times for the shows. We were disappointed with the bird show, as apparently some birds were not cooperative. Anyway, we had a good time at the koala keeper's... More

Visit the zoo which is located in a beautiful, scenic location. We travelled by ferry and took the bus to the main entrance as there was a long line for the cable car. Wander around and view animals in natural surroundings which are aesthetically pleasing. Wear a hat as you can get sunburnt easily. Use your zoo guide as we... More

Visited on a sunny Sunday in March with three kids aged five and under. Highly recommend taking the Ferry from Circular Quay and then the cable car to the top of the hill to the main entrance. On entering we headed towards the Koala exhibit which was unfortunately closed. Next on the path was Reptile World which was absolutely packed.... More
