As a frequent visitor to Darling Street, The Workers has permanently lost my business (and anyone else I speak to) thanks to rudeness of the security guard. The bar itself is OK and has live music pretty frequently but there are plenty of better options...More

Take the ferry to the inner west suburb of Balmain and be enchanted with this picturesque and eclectic waterside area. A stroll down Darling Street will take you on a tour of coffee shops, boutique delicatessens and shops offering wholefood products and organic cuisines. Yoga studios abound, and live music emanates from the hotels at night. As the place where the Australian Labor Party formed in 1891, Balmain has
commonly been known for its “working class culture”. It has evolved into a health-conscious heaven with a laid back attitude, offering one of the most vibrant food and bar scenes in Sydney.
