    Great beach
Great beach. Great walk about a little over a mile end to end. Nice waves, some surfers. Walk about a block north or south of the main entrance and you are all alone. Great town. People but not real crowded.

Beautiful beach, great day trip from PV
We were staying in Puerto Vallarta and took a day trip up to Playa San Pancho. It took just over an hour to get there due to slow traffic, but was totally worth the drive. A gorgeous, expansive beach with beautiful sand and access to lounge chairs and umbrellas that you can rent. We paid 600 pesos for five chairs and two umbrellas and had them for as long as we wanted all day. Servers from the restaurant by the beach will take orders and deliver food/drinks upon request. (Highly recommend the coconut shrimp!) There are also a couple of places on the south end of the beach where you can rent surf boards and take surf lessons. Lots of people out surfing and body surfing. Didn't have time to explore the town of San Francisco, but it's really cute with lots of little shops and restaurants. A really great day trip!

    Small Beach Town Vibes
My husband and I traveled to this beach for a day trip from Puerto Vallarta. It is about a 40 minute drive from there. This beach was amazing. The ocean is so clean and blue and the waves are amazing. They have plenty of umbrellas and chairs to rent as well. This is a smaller and quieter version of Sayulita beach but on Sundays, it gets packed! Good food and a great beach overall.

Clean and friendly beach with plenty of dining options in the town. We visited in shoulder season (October) and hope to come back again the same time of year.

Lovely beach in San Pancho, very nice to watch the sunset. We choose to take advantage of the cafes and enjoy fresh seafood, cold beer and sand on our toes. It can get pretty crowded at times and there may times where the dogs are plentiful.

We stayed in Sayulita...but wanted to see San Pancho as we had heard so many great things. The hike over was a blast!
The day that we were there... beach had strong waves and swimming would have been difficult. Not alot of activity on the beach but the town had many nice shops and restaurants.
This certainly felt like a resort...town.
Not the vibe we were looking for...but many people love it...and certainly worth a short visit.

The best reason to come here is the sunset. it was so beautiful!! I made sure I was front row and center for the experience. I went with the friend, but be sure to get there just early enough, otherwise you risk missing out on a good place to sit. The only downside about the beach is that there were a lot of stray dogs, which was sort of random. it's one of the places that is also good for surfing.

Physically lovely beach and relatively uncrowded (and almost deserted if you walk to the north end). Unless you're a highly experienced open water/surf swimmer, beware of the waves, us two veterans of California body surfing call them sandblasters. Another guest where we were staying got slammed and broke his collar bone. Make sure to buy a freshly-opened coconut to drink or a mango on a stick with lime juice, salt and chili pepper from the roving fruit vendors.
