Nice experience overall. Cabins were big and were received a free boat for the stay to use on the lake. Cell phone connectivity is limited but it's to be expected. Would definitely return again.

This park is really close to Memphis which was great for our family because we spent a lot of time going back and forth. Many of the park's facilities are closed for good so I get the feeling that it's best years have passed. The...More

Stayed in cabins from April 9-15. They are very old, in need of repair, smell bad and very dirty. We had 2 bedrooms each with a double bed and a small bathroom with no room to hang a towel or put anything on the counter....More

I have had a wonderful extended stay at Shelby Forest State Forest. Have been in the cabins for several days, with Cabin 2 and Cabin 3 being my favorites. The cabins are not fancy but fairly modern and very clean on the inside. Excellent beds....More

Love the park close to home. Good camp spots. Not real close to the lake. Has cabins right on the lake. Take plenty of bug spray in the warm months.

This is a nice park which is easy to get to in the Millington/Memphis area. There are nice hiking trails.

Highly recommend arriving during daylight hours for camping! It gets pretty dark because of all the trees and minimal lights. Do NOT miss the turn for the campground! We ended up on a one way road for hunters... There are few signs directing you back...More

I would visit the pavilions, and see which you like. One of the pavilions is closed (#3 or #5?) But is a nice shaded area.
