50 minute ride each way. Lovely scenery and nostalgic ride. Towyn was a bit of a disappointment though. Looking a bit tired and very littel on offer on sea front

Yesterday we caught the Dolgoch Falls train to Nant Gwernol. It stopped at Abergyniwyn for half an hour. The cafe there is lovely and very reasonably priced. We thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. Today we visited the main Tywyn Wharf station, depot, and museum. The museum is free and informative. We had a strawberry milkshake with extra cream and marshmallows... More

I'm just back visiting the Talyllyn Railway for a driver experience day which was a birthday present from my wife... and I which I can confidently say was the best birthday present that I've ever had. I've traveled on the railway a number of times over the years, but I saw a completely different side of it on this visit.... More

It's been over 30 years since we had visited all the places this little train visits. It was a lovely back in time visit. I think the mostly volunteer staff do a fantastic job of the upkeep of all of it. I only wish I was more mobile so I could have done more walking but we still loved our... More

We do a lot of trips on heritage railways and there are better. The carriages are very squashed and uncomfortable and there aren't many views which have you reaching for the camera. The staff are lovely and very welcoming and very willing to wait a little bit for elderly passengers hurrying for the train which was a nice touch.

Fantastic train journey with very helpful volunteers running the service. We stopped at dolgogh and the hour until the next train was perfect for a short walk round the falls, and then an hour at Abergynolwyn park was perfect timing also. Lovely scenery including red kites!

Interesting slice of Welsh history and a great experience for all ages. The scenery is breathtaking and saw a kite flying alongside the train at one point. Went in the afternoon but will take an earlier train next time to allow for a walk as well in the hills.

I had long wanted to visit this railway, and when the opportunity came, I was not disappointed. The volunteers who look after the line and its engines are only too happy to tell you about the history of the Talyllyn, and the work they do to preserve it for future generations. The Talyllyn is one of the jewels in the... More
