It is a really lovely place in an easy to get to location. Well laid out and accessible. The presentation is good. Not too long and to the point.

Such an odd castle in many ways, but very interesting. Some nice exhibits and would improve from a few more. Really loved the views and a really enjoyable morning. Worth a visit.

It's best seen when there is something happening. Try and time your visit to coincide with a re-enactment or other displays.

This is a castle which was never actually finished but still has plenty to see. You can walk round the walls and access internal areas. There is a short but informative introductory film and small exhibits as you go round.

Visited towards the end of a lovely sunny autumn day. Great views from the ramparts and plenty of corridors and rooms to explore within the walls. Would be a great place to come with young children - plenty of scope for hide and seek!
