Beaumaris is a great castle, albeit one that was never finished. The walls are very impressive and surrounded by a moat. It is worth taking the stairs up to the walls and walking around the views are outstanding.

Beaumaris, begun in 1295 and yet still filled me with awe and a shudder, can you imagine what the 'Hammer' of both the Scots & Welsh (Edward 1) must have felt was needed to make a point here. Great place, knowledgeable & friendly staff,a must visit place.

Visited Beaumaris during Storm Ali so weather wasn’t the best. Lovely castle but apart from the ramparts there’s very little else to do. Enjoyed it anyway, great views from the walls

I went there with my partner, who is blind. The reason why I say this is more than just a castle is because of the things you can interact with. My partner now has a very good appreciation of how an arch is built. In...More

If you are interested in Welsh history, especially interaction with the English, this is well worth the stop. Consider buying the explorer pass as a way of visiting several historic locations at a discount.

Fabulous medieval encampment throughout the castle, smells, demonstrations, chances to participate - sadly ruined by the sudden heavy downpours which had everyone running for cover. Luckily your ticket enables you to leave and return on the same day which we did until the rain subsided....More

Lovely castle and still looks really good despite needing restoration. There was some scaffolding going on with very loud builders shouting to each other which was a bit off putting but apart from that it had amazing views!
