I'm an average golfer (18 handicap). The course is a great test and at present is in fantastic condition. The fairways are super super short and have gone brown, the bunkers are challenging and really well placed, and the greens ran true and were handcut...More

Visited here for a days golf. I’ve been coming here for 20 years and I can safely say the course is now better than it’s ever been. The greens are true and of good pace and the bunkers which historically were an issue have now...More

What a golf course, excellent greens for mid March. Very challenging course even more so when the wind picks up. Very tough finishing holes.

I played RSD for the fist time this week whilst being buffeted by the tail of hurricane Ophelia. A Winter Warmer green fee of £35 included a cooked breakfast (tea extra). The practice facilities are excellent with a full length range (30 balls for £3),...More

I had not played the course in 20 years however on returning to Wales it was a must play for me. On a wet, blustery day we enjoyed the round although found the greens not to be in the best of shape and the course...More

Ok....very good but not 'excellent'? Well, the course is 'very good' and I agree with an earlier reviewer, it's perfectly possible to score well on this course even first time out. It is fair, but also sufficiently challenging without being unreasonably difficult. The only real...More

Just back from a visit to North Wales, we played and stayed at Royal St. David's, what a fantastic track. Yes, the rough is fairly heavy in places which should be expected with the recent wet and warm weather but you have to be fairly...More

...about the degree of difficulty? I played it for the very first time a few weeks ago on a warm but breezy day with my teenage daughter; certainly a day described as a one-club wind. She shot a gross 72 off the men's tees (both...More

I have been lucky enough to play all the best courses in Wales and this is by far my favorite. A championship links course, in excellent condition in the shadow of a medieval castle with the mountains of Snowdonia in the distance. It just doesn't...More

We'd had it tough already on this trip. Aberdovey GC had seen ball stocks depleted significantly the day before so I should have been ready for another expensive day given RSD's reputation. Arriving at a very empty RSD I was feeling pretty good considering the...More
