Boating, hiking, horses, playground, food, trinkets, welcome center and plenty of parking. It is one very large park type attraction. Still recovering from expanding the lake, a bit muddy, but coming along well. Buffalo, fishing, hiking, it has it all. Food at the welcome center snack bar is a bit pricey, but is good quality. Playground for kids is interesting.

Billed as the largest urban park in the country, at 4500 acres. Still very new, in terms of amenities, but great playgrounds, trails for hiking & biking, and a restaurant that overlooks a beautiful lake.

The Visitor's Center and surrounding area was under construction during our visit. Had a wonderful time watching the buffalo roam. You are able to get very close and observe the heard. Very nice park filled with tons of activities. You could spend the entire day.

This is an enormous park in east Memphis near the intersection of Walnut Grove and Germantown Road, multiple trails, several lakes for fishing, children's playground, and off-leash dog park. It is well-maintained, lots of wide open spaces and lots of woodsy trails. 2 bits of caution however: the off-leash dog park is not completely fenced, so if your dog is... More

My grand daughter loves hand feeding the horses. We are going daily to see what new lights are being placed for Starry Nights. We love Shelby Farms. The dog park is great for frisbee tossing and throwing a ball for our dogs.

Shelby Farms has the Lucius Nature Center which is filled with wonderful hiking, running and off road bike trails. My friends took a 3 hour hike Saturday and covered 9 miles. It was a great hike.

Clean, green and free for all to enjoy. The trails and paths are a runner's dream. Bikes and kayaks are available to rent at reasonable rates. The newly enlarged lake is beautiful and affords a lot of family fun. Be sure to visit the Bison habitat. Sometimes they lie down very close to the fences and you can get a... More

My friend called me and invited me to lunch we didn't know where we were going. We decided to have lunch at the Kitchen in Shelby Farms. The lunch was awesome, we got the burger and fries. They have healthy items also. We were splurging. We tried a dessert. We were there 4 hours laughing enjoying the music, not a... More

There are so many great things about Shelby Farms. We love going there anytime we are in town. Playground with a variety of activities for different ages is a big hit, especially the spider web climbing area. Slides are also fun (although extremely hot with the sun beating down) and the sand/water play/climbing area can entertain for hours. There are... More
