Nice House

interesting tour of this fantastic house. The stories and legends about the place are quite intriguing. I love old house tours and was very pleased.

Very informative and interesting tour. Just loved learning about the history of the occupants and this mansion. This mansion is very detailed, with very unique features for the time. The size of the doors to hide-away shutters, just lots of cool stuff to see. We thought our tour guide was amazing, I think they are local college students volunteering. The... More

What a wonderful time! Food, fun, wine, ghosts! Employees dressed in period clothing , taking on the likness of the Woodruff-Fontaine family members, telling stories of "their" time in the house.

This house is a nice piece of history though the exterior is well finished there appears to be more restoration work to be done on the interior.

We were so excited to tour this house. A gorgeous home! HOWEVER, we were very rudely treated when trying to obtain tickets to view the inside of the house. First of all, it was very unclear where to go. It had a huge sign out front with hours of operation. It is indeed a day that they are open and... More

We decided to tour the Woodruff-Fontaine House and had a lovely tour guide who was very knowledgeable about the time period as well as the home. They have various 'themes' throughout the year, I believe she said they change things out 4-5 times/year. We toured during the mourning theme, which was very interesting to learn about how deaths were mourned... More

The tour lasted close to 2-hours and was filled with so much information. Our guide was very knowledgeable, and we enjoyed her sweet disposition.

This home is truly magnificent. Beautiful from start to finish! The details were wonderful- from the architecture to the clothing to the décor- it was all just right. Our tour guide was incredibly knowledgeable and had a real passion for this home. She was able to answer any and all questions plus she was able to add all kinds of... More

My husband and I have visited many homes including Charleston and Savannah but I have to say this was one of the best tours we have had and one of the reasons was our wonderful guide Rosemary. She went into great detail of the families that lived there and the home itself. She also gave many details about the way... More

This has some of the finest examples of detail, detail, detail in any historic home I have toured. Example:Take a look at the door hinges. There is also another home on the block which I was not able to see as its "open" hours are limited. Check the days and times for both before visiting and make a day of... More
