This lovely gallery and garden in East Memphis is so charming and easy to enjoy. The grounds are very well kept and provide paths to walk around. There is a small green house, and plenty of table to enjoy a lunch or a coffee or...More

This is a great place to spend a couple of hours on a lovely day. The daffodils were in full bloom when we were there and the garden paths wander delightfully so we could fully appreciate the advent of Spring. Inside we really enjoyed the...More

I love to go here and get out of the hustle and bustle of the day. The permanent collection is serene and masterful with its extensive collection of French impressionist. On warm days the gardens will take away all your stress!

The Dixon is a jewel of a museum - small and eminently visitable with many unusual exhibits and sometimes world class ones. It's definitiey worth attending the Munch and Learn series of lec-dems on Wednesday afternoons that are mostly related to the installations and other...More

An impressive collection of impressionistic art. Special traveling visits keep things interesting. Gardens are amazing in the spring.

We loved the temporary exhibit of clothing done in paper. It was extraordinary and so was the permanent exhibit. It was beautifully decorated for Christmas and enjoyed everything about it! The art work was of masters and was very carefully explained. Flowers and garden were...More

Come for the excellent Impressionist art. That is really worth it. The awful Christmas music you had to endure while looking at the marvelous paintings you have to forget. The paper clothes exhibit was well done too. But what's up with the museum store? You...More

We enjoyed our visit as it was part of a reciprocal program with our local botanical society and thus had free admission. We can’t believe the visiting artist and the intricate work done with paper. The gardens were nice but there were roses blooming again....More

I didn't have much time for the gardens, so I went into the art museum. As my luck has been on this month-long art-hunting trip with a NARM (North American Reciprocal Museums) pass, most of the museum was closed to do new installations. A very...More

I don't think so. When we were there, I asked if the grounds stayed open after the museum closes at 5; I was told no. Might be worth a call to them though
