Went there today with my dad (June 21, 2018). He really appreciates gardens like this and this one met his expectations. It was $10 entry each. Bottled water was $1. They even had cheaply priced lemonade. There is lots to do for kids. Swings, playhouse,...More

We enjoyed walking around this beautiful botanical garden. The magnolia grove with the blooming magnolias was peaceful and picturesque. Take a bottle of water with you if you plan on walking all of the pathways, wear a hat if it's sunny, and bring a camera....More

Though it was a warm day we enjoyed our hour's walk around the gardens, especially the Japanese garden and butterfly garden. My Big Backyard is geared for children but is a wonderful whimsical garden for the child in us all. The staff at the welcome...More

Our family of 4(2 adults and 2 teens) found the gardens to be a beautiful and relaxing way to spend an afternoon. The magnolia trees were gorgeous and smelled wonderful. The flowers were all very pretty and there were some unique flower beds. If you...More

In our most recent visit, extensive mulching and cleanup is ongoing. The plants in bloom include hydrangeas, lilies, day lilies and the evergreen magnolias. The grounds are immaculate and lovely to walk through. The children's garden is great with mist blowers and fountains to play...More

I recently found myself driving from a funeral in Mississippi to visit an elderly relative in Arkansas. Since the location was only a short detour from I40 I decided to take a travel break at the Memphis Bontanic Garden. The garden was only started in...More

I love a good Botanic Garden, this isn't one. Enormous grounds, few if any flowering plants or interesting trees/shrubbery. Not positive but i don't believe anything at all was blooming in May. I did see a large empty stage. And a whole lot of green...More

We spent 90 minutes exploring the Memphis Botanic Gardens. Really nice layout of the grounds with a lot to see. We were expecting to see many more flowers but these Gardens emphasize more herbs, native plants other non-flower vegetation. There is a tremendous amount of...More

We love the botanical gardens...even bought a membership today, despite only being in town twice a year to visit family. If you have kids, I feel like this is a hidden gem. The little houses, swings, climbing structures, stream, etc in the big backyard area...More

Yes you should be able to see most of the plants. The garden is massive, we didn't see it all as it got far too hot for us. We made it through 70%. Parking is on site and make sure to bring a bottle of water and sunscreen
