Would recommend to everyone. The views were still amazing even though the weather was miserable. Used to have red kites here but they were nearly extinct a long time ago but sadly they haven’t came back yet.

We were taking an evening drive after dinner in Melrose and decided to drive to Scott's View. We were so pleased and can completely understand why Scott found it so inspirational.
Even on a dull evening the views were beautiful and far-reaching and the yellow gorse stood out all around.
A lovely place to visit on a clear evening.

Very lucky to live very near to this viewpoint in the beautiful Scottish Borders. The view at all times of the year is stunning. Parking and seating areas available. Tranquil and peaceful looking over towards the Eildons. Take time out if your trip to visit.

We followed the signs from St Boswells up a short narrow road towards scotts view, having seen photos online we were expecting a good view but the view was outstanding!
Well worth the short 4 mile detour, the the road is narrow in some places and a few potholes too but it's definitely one of the best views in Scotland that I have seen!

Beautiful view overlooking the rolling hills of Scotland. Worth stopping if you’re heading south from Edinburgh.

The view here is just unbelievable at this amazing view point. Not surprised that Scott found this to be a beautiful place. You can see for miles & it is easy to spend ages just looking at the wonderful landscape. I never expected anything so breathtaking, with a panoramic view of the Eildon hills and the whole area.
Well worth a visit if anywhere in the area.

It's worth the trip along this country lane to see this stunning view northwards across the Borders landscape of Tweed Valley and Eildon Hills. On the same lane, it's also worth stopping at the car park for the William Wallace statue, which is a couple of minutes' walk away and provides another beautiful vista.

We arrived here by taking a Rabbies Tour. Would not have come here if it were not for the tour and we are happy we got to make the visit. The views and the historical significance is amazing.

The views were good on the drive up to the layby. The views even on a cold December day were fantastic. Peaceful and relaxing, a good place to reflect and chill.

This was a favorite view of Sir Walter Scott and as others have stated his funeral procession stopped on it's way for one last glimpse of this beautiful countryside.
Just a few moments to revel in the Scottish countryside.

You can leave Jedburgh making for Melrose and I think you have to turn off on to a minor road. I called at the statue of William Wallace (Braveheart) on the way but it is tucked away although very impressive. Scotts View is well sign posted on brown tourist signs.
