Interesting piece of local history. Small museum next to Longhouse with facts about the family and displaying things found in the house. Small car park at site and dog friendly. Visit shouldn't take longer than an hour but well worth a visit.

We first went to visit the house on the Saturday but found it closed. It's only open on Wednesday and Sunday afternoons as it is run by volunteers. We returned on the Sunday. The guides were very knowledgeable and friendly. Easy parking and access.

The Trust staff are mainly volunteers but are very Knowledgeable about the house and how the families would have lived.

Do come back and visit, we are sure you will enjoy it. The house is open from May to September on Wednesdays and Sundays between 2pm and 5pm. There is more information on our National Trust for Scotland website.

Being members of the Scottish National Trust we knew the longhouse was closed when we decided to visit but wanted to see the exterior. However, we were in for an unexpected treat! Within minutes of arriving a transit van pulled up and a very nice...More

We enjoyed our visit to the Longhouse as it gave us a real insight into the life of ordinary people and especially as it had been lived in comparatively recently - we were able to see actual photos of the last inhabitants. We have read...More

I'm sorry you were unable to see Moirlanich Longhouse when it is open, as you have realised the opening hours are limited as the Killin Heritage Society runs the tours as volunteers. In addition, the limited opening hours allow us to maintain the environment within...More
