    Exceptionally kind staff
Visited the distillery the week after festival week. Distillery was closed for maintenance but still had a great time, coffee and a dram. The shop staff were exceptional, really kind and helpful. Definitely worth a visit if you are on Islay. Brilliant shop and restaurant and one of the best locations on the island.

Superb distillery and very friendly staff
Visited on the 10th staff were superb in the shop very welcoming and professional. Genuine interest in what whiskies we wanted to sample and purchase, very knowledgeable and patient. Even answering questions of an enquiring 13 year old who had scientific queries. Driver drams provided and can’t fault the welcome or attitude

Excellent whiskey, interesting tour, friendly staff.
Eva was an excellent guide around the distillery. Interesting to hear about the distillery, taste different whiskeys from the Ardbeg range, and also learn a bit about growing up on the island. Highly recommend.

    Great tour, cafe closed though
Had a lovely tour with Eva who shared a lot about island life and the history of Ardbeg. The shop is great but dissappointed there weren't any distillery exclusive bottles. Also we had specifically planned to eat at the Old Kiln cafe with out family as we'd heard such great things but when we arrived we were told the cafe didn't have a chef at the moment so there was only pre-made sandiches and soup from the trailer outside. Really disappointing as there wasn't any mention of this from Ardbeg knowing I had booked a tour and I didn't see anything on their website eaither. If we'd known we could have made other arragements but there are very few places to eat in the area so we settled for some sandwiches and roast corn as several of the other hot things were already sold out from the trailer.

    Lovely staff and great service
There is an indoor and outdoor cafe area here. We stopped for tea and scones here. The staff were very pleasant and service was excellent, even though it was quite busy. The scones were delicious, heated through and served with jam and cream.

    Great whisky, amazing lunch spot
Awesome, interesting whisky and a life changing burger. Ardbeg has a very different feel to a lot of other distilleries. Young and funky, with great loos and a must stop for the fabulous lunch. Staff were laid back and friendly, letting us take our generous free samples of whisky through to the restaurent to enjoy with lunch. Plenty of good merch available in the shop as well!

    Whisky and walks!
We had a wonderful experience with Emma who was our guide on a special Drams on the Dam walk and lunch. Great views, excellent special tasting for our walk and perfect to enjoy both the whisky and the surroundings. Learned the history of the distillery and the community that supported it and how life has changed.

Great whiskey, a beautiful setting and a lovely tour
Loved this distillery your. Wee Emma is informative and has a lovely sense of humor. The Ardbeg story is interesting and there is something lovely about being around time honored practices. (They use the same grain testing sieve that they have used for generations). The whole place is a delightful mix traditional and young and funky. (Including the naming of some of the whiskeys) Absolutely worth a visit. (I also loved the fact that my drivers drams came in cool tube for takeaway. )

    Fantastic tour
Great experience on the standard tour. Our tour guide, Rebecca, was knowledgable, friendly and did a great job of managing quite a rowdy group. The tour came with 3 drams which were all delicious and generously poured. Afterwards had a great lunch in the cafe, delicious ciabatta and coffee, reasonably priced. Thanks for a great experience!

Great tour, food, and guide. A+!
Great tour and great guide! I came during off season and hung out at the Cafe. Waited for the tour and really enjoyed it. Guide, I think her name was Rebecca, was attentive and engaged during the tour.

We had a wonderful afternoon at the distillery. Our guide, Emma, was engaging, informative and knowledgeable. We booked the “a timely tasteful tasting” a great experience.
It was a delight to be in her company and fun to go into the new ‘smoking pod’ .
Food in the Kiln cafe was as enjoyable as ever and the whisky cocktails went down a treat (as well as the tasting drams)
We will return. Special thanks too for the member of staff who put my handbag behind the counter having left it there, whoops 😬!! Excellent staff and service

We had a wonderful time at Ardbeg, where we took a distillery tour, and ate lunch twice in three days. Ron, our tour guide, was exceptional and engaging. The food in the cafe was very good, and the staff all around could not have been nicer. I haven’t even mentioned the whisky yet; perhaps you’re already a fan of Ardbeg if you’re stopping by to visit, but if not you’ll be in for some a treat!

Beautiful walk to Ardbeg distillery. Wonderful located on the coastline of Islay. One of my favorite whiskies. Peaty and Smokey.

Rebecca led our group through a comprehensive look at one of the finest whiskies on earth, and every step of the process was exhibited to get the best view of how this spirit gets to the bottle. The production floor is state of the art, and the expertise with how they design new expressions is stunning. If you're fortunate the tour will end on the back pier, with a stunning view of Port Ellen harbor.

The property and tour are one of the best on the island. The staff and guides are helpful and knowledgeable. And their products are quite good. Ardbeg is also one of the few distilleries on the island with a cafe.

What an amazing afternoon tour spent with Linda at at Ardbeg. Upon arrival to the reception Linda could not have been more helpful, she actually made space for me to join the 3pm tour which was very exciting as this is the fourth time I've tried to get on to a tour - all been my disorganised fault for not booking in advance - It was a great time !! Relaxed, informative and very well paced. I wasn't even enjoying the drams on the way round as I had the car - I wasn't worried though as Linda furnished me with a glass and ensured me that I would be looked after with drivers drams at the end!! I was not let down, drams given in a tube to take away and enjoy at home.

Best advice I'd give is wear sensible shoes (not flip flops/sliders or cycling shoes) as its an industrial site.
Try and have a driver or something to allow you to partake in the social drams on the way around.
Book well in advance to ensure that you don't miss out.

Could not have asked for anything more - value for money at the £20 price tag as it was at least £15 of whisky given and your free glass!!!

Have fun! - enjoy -
