The first time I have been to Scotland riding and someone told me to do this route as it one of the best riding roads in the UK; I was not disappointed! Breath taking and put a big grin on my face for days!
An amazing road set if impressive scenery. The car park at the top has excellent views over the Minch towards Skye and the Cuillin Ridge. Can also be used to walk in to the Corbetts of Sgurr a Chaorachain, or Beinn Bhan. A must stop...More
If you are confident at driving on single track and steep roads you will find this a tremendous drive. The views are amazing and spectacular. If you are a nervous driver especially on challenging roads then avoid! Find someone who likes driving on such roads...More
I have just come up Bealach Na Ba. I was going uphill when I noticed a white van with red lettering forcing its way downhill and forcing other cars to pull in. I sounded my horn to let them know I was approaching but they...More
Started our Journey from Plockton to Applecross and went via The Bealach Na Ba.
This is the most fantastic, scenic and wonderful driving experience I've ever had.
Single track, hairpin bends, and has passing places by the dozen. If you plan to photograph from everywhere...More
We drove the loop from Torridon over the high road, and around the low coast road returning. The weather was fair and the land and seascape scenery was amazing. Lunch at Applecross Inn on the picnic tables overlooking the water was lovely.

Sheildaig is lovely and has a good pub and restaurant. Applecross is lovely too but I think its not a good base, unless you like the hairy drive on a regular basis! We stayed in a lodge in Achintraid, just outside of Kishorn for 1 week, a few miles from Lochcarron (see Wilderness Cottages). But I would recommend staying somewhere less isolated as its nice to have facilities when the weather is bad (as it was with us last year).
