Designed by Old Tom Morris in 1886, this challenging, historic course has spectacular views of the North Sea and goes almost straight out and straight back, with the angle changing subtly at each hole.

This was the final course we played on a ten day tour of East Lothian, Aberdeen and Inverness and we were fortunate enough to play it twice. Royal Dornoch is one of the top rated golf courses in the world, and it is certainly impressive....More

Food is excellent with mains and puddings of the highest quality. The specials included mash potato mixed with black pudding with three butchers link sausages on top. Delicious.

Sensational! Raining, windy, freezing - and that's in summer! Perfect golf weather. 400 years of golf here at Royal Dornoch. Course was magic. Second day was sunny so that was really great. Glenmorangie at the 10th hole...

My son and I traveled to Scotland for a week of bucket list golf and were fortunate enough to play this course early in our trip. The weather was perfect - a little overcast, but no wind. The staff was very helpful and friendly and...More

I've heard rave reviews of the course, and it did not disappoint one bit. Upon arrival, we were greeted by a young man who assisted us with parking, confirmed our caddies, and overall gave us the lay of the land. It's quite unique in the...More

It says a lot about this course that I last played it in 1968 and remembered almost every hole. There are few comparable links courses in the world, both in the setting and quality of the layout. We took the 'twylight' round on two successive...More

This famous championship course is a true test. A links course, with many offset tees, hard-running fairways and many elevated greens, add 5 to your handicap to do well. In good condition throughout, with sweeping views and fresh air, on a nice day it's a...More

Brilliant views, interesting course, friendly staff, all the elements of weather in one round. I've played 12 courses in SW Ireland and NE Scotland in the past year. This is in my top 3 including the Old Course. Go see.

On a golf tour of 12 courses in 2 weeks, this great layout was a very tough test in moderate winds and some rain. Some spectacular scenery along the ocean adds to the occasion. There are a number of very interesting holes, with a couple...More

There are several members at Royal Dornoch who are also keen fishermen. Best advice would be to ask the ladies in the administration office who might be able to put you in touch

I would recommend one round on the championship course and play the second round at Brora.
