True gem of Orkney. Museum crammed full of Orkney history. Some very interesting exhibits from the newly discovered Stenness Neolithic village.

One would find a good deal of surprises in chatting with the curators/guides.Perhaps there will be an improvement in the selection of merchandise, especially the Stromness-oriented stuff.Ticket is valid for multiple entries, so take your time.

Negotiate the narrow streets and hope to find a parking space this museum is a great place to go on a wet day. Rooms in an old building with various levels and stairs so not great for disabled visitors

This is a Victorian museum full of weird and unusual collections as well as abundance of War memorabilia. You will find stuffed birds shells photos furniture clothing ship parts china, Hudson Bay goodies, and about a zillion other things.
