What a lovely wee hideaway in a delightful valley with space to walk, play and explore in amongst trees in Orkney!

This is a lovely spot to relax and enjoy the scenery. A little stream runs through a bluebell wood - something of a rarity in Orkney.

In many years of visiting Orkney we'd never even heard of this place until a friend told me about it and then I found these reviews. Not easy to find as it's not signposted, it's hidden away and very quiet and peaceful and hopefully will...More

Little late review, we visited in May when the bluebells bloomed and the trees turned green. This is a true pearl to visit. The beauty, calm and magic of this place will stay with you long after you get home. If I ever go back...More

Another lovely visit to Happy Valley. A nice warm sunny say with our baby and niece/nephew. Kids always love it and its a serene place to spend an hour or so.

Very beautiful garden to see sat behind a lovely little cottage (sadly empty and a little unloved right now). The garden was full of beautiful flowers following paths around the trees and waterfall. Really is a hidden gem on Orkney and a must see for...More

Lovely short walk in the valley of this charming wood, running with the stream. Volunteers manitain the site. The house of the same name has been restored but no access to see inside. Bluebells in spring are particularly lovely. Paths are muddy in wet weather....More

On such a treeless island, Happy Valley seems to be an aberration. This is a delightful spot, not a valley as such, more a creek bed, edged on both sides by trees with lovely green foliage. On a warmer day, and perhaps in a different...More
