Rosslyn Chapel, dating back to 1446, is just seven miles from Edinburgh...

Rosslyn Chapel, dating back to 1446, is just seven miles from Edinburgh city centre and is open to visitors all year. The Chapel's setting and the mysterious symbolism of its ornate stonework have attracted and intrigued visitors for generations. A starring role in The Da Vinci Code propelled it into the international spotlight. There are countless theories, myths and legends associated with the Chapel and our tour guides will be able to tell you more about these, and the building's history, when you visit. Please note that photography inside the Chapel is not allowed but there are no restrictions on outside photography. New visitor centre with touch-screen technology, letting you see the carvings close up; gift shop and good coffee shop. Full details of how to get here and what to see and do is on our website.

I was initially skeptical about paying the entry fee (especially because you can't take photos inside), but soon discovered that Rosslyn chapel is one of the most (if not the most) beautiful chapel I've ever been to! Make sure you catch one of the talks about the history of the building as it is truly fascinating (the timetable is on... More

Got the no 37 bus from outside M&S in Princes St and was really looking forward to the visit. It's a five minute walk from the bus stop - buses every 30 mins by the way. I paid the £7 fee for the over 60s and went through to the chapel. I had been told that a talk had started... More

I don't know about the Da Vinci code and all that, but this an amazing chapel. Stone carvings are amazing. Brief talk given as part of admission is very interesting.

The chapel has many sculpture surprises, the environment is feeling very comfortable, safe, warm welcome and offers a beautiful scenery. Unfortunately making photo's of the interior isn't allowed, but if you want to unstressed then this is the place to be. The history of the chapel is very impressive.

I was one of the few people that had forgotten that the Rosslyn Chapel was in the Da Vinci Code, yet, it was still as interesting and as much a curiosity as ever. The history of the church, and how it had fallen into disrepair and abandoned, only to become the focal point of an effort to restore it, due... More

just back from an organised bus trip to rosslyn chapel. Lasted five minutes inside the chapel, standing room only, was at back of chapel and couldnt hear the lecture. Just left and waited in shop for friends, waste of money.

The Da Vinci Code driven curiosity is what made me visit the Chapel. It was worth the visit. Entry fee is 9 pounds. I had expected it to be a very big chapel. Well, it is not as massive as I imagined but the height of the ceiling and the handiworks that adorns the ceiling are beautiful. There are numerous... More

I guess that Dan Browne has put this site back on the map and that has ensured an onslaught of visiters. In peak season I can only imagine what this place would be like. Great visitor center - worth it but nothing special.

Well worth a visit. The introductory talk by Neil gave the historical context of this beautiful, ornately carved, building from the mediaeval period right up to the financial boost of the D'Vinci Code. The staff team really charming. Notvto br missed.

Visited with family on a beautiful sunny day. Staff very helpful and informative. It was a nice morning out. The carvings on the walls and the ceiling were beautiful. Would visit again.
