One of the great bridges of the world

Spectacular in appearance and scale, the Forth Bridge is a sight to behold. We were able to get a great view from the roadside in South Queensferry.

Can't believe that I never went on the train across the bridge before!! And I'm not exactly a youngster!! We were staying with friends in Dunfermline and going in to Edinburgh for the afternoon and dinner, and so 40 minute journey was the way. Great view over to the other two bridges, so my picture actually has all 3 bridges... More

At any time of the day or night it's a sight to behold. Particularly lovely at sunrise and sunset. Close to the Forth road bridge and the currently being constructed, likely to be award winning, spectacular Queensferry Crossing.

The scale of this bridge is amazing, the weather was a bit dull so not great for photography but for something that was built so long ago it's in good condition, lets see how the other two bridges look at the same age. It is an industrious area and the history is fascinating.

We stopped here after crossing on the car bridge which had good views and a view of this bridge. The views are good and the engineering of the bridge is good to see. This place is worth seeing

The Forth Bridge is a state of the art work of engineering. It spams from shore to shore with a beautiful background, this is a must see of you visit Scotland

The oldest of the 3 Forth bridges constructed by tones of steel in 1890 is one the main attractions of the outskirts of Edinburgh. Visiting Edinburgh it is worthy to get a local bus trip to South Queensferry. Lots to do for the whole day, plenty to see. Worthy to book the river tour locally. Lots of excellent restaurants for... Go by train from Edinburgh and get off at North Queensferry thereby travelling over the bridge and getting a close view of the bridge by a short but steep walk down to sea level. You can get right underneath the lattice work of steel and get an impressive view.

The Forth Bridge was opened on the 4th March 1890. It is a cantilever railway bridge stretching over the Firth of Forth between the villages of North Queensferry and South Queensferry. The bridge is situated 9 miles west of Edinburgh centre. Around 190 to 200 trains cross the bridge on a daily basis. Sometimes referred to as the Forth Rail... More

The bridge was MASSIVE and the little village on the Edinburgh side of the river was quaint. There were three bridges but the best one was the railway bridge!!!
