Had a drive out here this morning with my daughter. I was here about 11 years ago so just had vague memories of what it was all about. We were surprised to learn that the whole outfit is now owned by Edinburgh Woollen Mill. There is a large shop which sells a whole range of fancy goods, ladies and gents... More

At the Scottish Deer Centre not only do they have an amazing number of species of deer (some of which you can hand-feed), but also birds of prey, otters, wolves, bears, and other animals. On the day of our visit it was quite windy, which meant that the birds of prey display had to be postponed. However, the falconer brought... More

What a truly wonderful place to visit. The staff, especially Danielle, are very well informed, dedicated, and passionate about what they are doing. Explaining all about the animals and taking on board everyone's point of view. We went to see the carnivores being fed, wolves, lynxes, bear's, fox, wild cats, which was supposed to take approximately 50 minutes, the talks... More

My family and I visited the Deer Centre today and I have to say I was very impressed with the staff. I had came along to watch my mum get falconry experience with my 10 week old baby. The staff were lovely and friendly and helped me with the doors etc. My baby got a bit grumpy as babies do... More

My husband and I spent a great few hours at the Scottish Deer Centre. As photographers, our main aim was to try and get some nice shots of the otters. Their keeper, Alana, could not have been more helpful. She arranged a feed for the otters and led them right down to the pond where we were so we were... More

We visited the Scottish Deer Centre yesterday with our daughter (8) and her friend (10) on an itison deal. To be honest, I hadn't heard of it before and we hadn't really done a lot of research into what was there so I was expecting, naturally, just deer. Imagine my surprise to find a host of other animals there! The... More

I'd say this is the best park I've been to including zoo's and wildlife parks. You actually get up close to the animals and they choose if they want to pop over or not. It's such a fantastic experience especially for children to see deer up close and get to feed them. We also arrived just in time to see... More

This was a family visit to the Deer Centre, six adults in total, unsure of what was in store! We all thoroughly enjoyed it, lots to see and lots of information to take in, it was a great day out. There are many different species to see, including obviously many different deers, wolves, Lynx, bears, Wildcats, an owl who is... More

We visited the deer centre on a cold but sunny afternoon. We did the nose to nose feed with 3 of the tamer deer. This was followed with the bird display which involved 3 birds, a kestrel, a hawk and finished with the owl. Brilliant display very interesting to see and hear - the display lasted about half an hour... More

This place is so great. Great value for money, and extremely well run. Suitable for all ages. I went with my boyfriend, so suitable for big kids as well as little ones! There are loads of deer and you can get hands on and feed them as well, which is fun, if a little slobbery. You can also watch the... More
