We were blessed with a lovely warm and sunny day which enhanced our second visit here. Inveresk is a small garden with an attractive house (not open) and offers a real countryside feel despite being on the edge of Musselburgh. A wilder area with ponds...More

The gardens are open but not the house . It is a smallish venue but worth a visit. Easy to park and not difficult to get round

The gardens are soggy in autumn, several paths are closed off due to waterlogging and the pond looks rather bleak, but the general quietude and serenity largely make up for that. We were the only visitors (on a Sunday afternoon) and took our time for...More

The top part of this garden is lovely and we spent a relaxing couple of hours wandering around and sitting here. There is a lower part to the garden but this looks as if it needs some attention. Maybe it's because of unsuitable weather this...More

A lovely haven of peace and quiet, in a gorgeous setting. It has obviously at one time been a wonderful place, but is now starting to look rundown, lots of weeds and some of the flowerbeds look untended.

The sun helps of course but stepping from Musselborogh roads into this garden was heavenly. There's a more formal area that needs a lot more work in terms of weeding and also a wilder, meadow area beyond. I was envious of the visitor who was...More
