A great day out with family. Big field to play games in and picnic. Great for walks down to the beach or up on the cliffs. The old buildings and artefacts are even covered in cobwebs from years of standing there. It's like a real life theme village.

Have been visiting Tyneham for many years whilst holidaying in Dorset. Always brings a lump to my throat whilst walking around the village, such a sad story for the people of Tyneham. Please pay a visit, you will not regret it. Fantastic walks from the village to Worbarrow Bay, Kimmeridge and Lulworth (some dependant on the range walks being open).... More

We were lucky to visit Tyneham before it got busy with visitors (recommend you get there early) and so the emptiness of the place added to the ambience. Walking around you got a true feeling of what life was like for the people who lived here and how their lives were uprooted when they were ordered to leave. The information... More

I'ts like going back in time! I love the old schoolhouse, the beautiful handwriting, the old desks & the children coathooks. You expect the children to come back any time. The church is peaceful & beautiful and you can just wonder into the buildings/houses that were once homes to families before the War started. It's well worth a visit. A... More

Love this place! The little derelict village is interesting to look round time and time again. But the best part is the 10-15min walk down the path to the beach. Many people don't realise it's here, great day out and well worth taking a picnic!

A very interesting place, so peaceful and idyllic. Lots of information about the families that lived there and about the buildings. Would definitely recommend a visit here. I will definitely be going back.

This village is well worth a visit. It's like stepping back in time and fascinating to read about the families who originally lived in the village. How sad that the families were never allowed to return to their homes after the war. On a warm day there is space to have a picnic and you can walk to a small... More

We've been here a few times at various times of year, it's always poignant when you go into the village and remember the families who had to leave and never came back. A short walk to the beach which I've never seen very busy, just perfect if you like peace and quite. I have 2 teens and they like it... More

With a little planning, you can park at Whiteways above Tyneham, then do a circular walk that goes through Tyneham and Worbarrow. The views are spectacular and you also get to potter round the village. Check at the Tourist Information for range closures.
