We live not far away, and often take visiting friends on the triangular walk starting from the Start Point Car Park, down to the lighthouse if it is open, otherwise to the gate, then turn right along the coast path which you follow until there's another turning to the right which leads you back up the valley to the car... The Lighthouse is the cream on the pudding. Take a few hours, and walk all around the coast line in an anti-clockwise circular tour from the national trust (pay to park) car park at the top, down over the stone track in a westerly direction, then when you get to the coast turn South towards the lighthouse, walk about a... Visited on a grey day, however the views were spectacular from the car park down to the light house. There was no charge for parking when we visited, however there is a cabin present so it may be chargeable in peak season. Be sure to take binoculars as then you can view the coast, the various boats, birds and rocks... More

Great walk (just right for kids) and a brilliant great value for money tour of the light house by a very nice guide who knew his stuff. Lots of steps but really worth it.

The location of the lighthouse is absolutely stunning. The guide was fantastic and the lighthouse really interesting. The one hour tour managed to keep our four kids interested - impressive.

Good parking at top end of a metalled track, with pleasant views as we walked downhill to the lighthouse - about half a mile. On arrival we found we would be only a small group - 5 in total - which suited us fine. Very pleasant lady guide told us all about the local history of shipwrecks and the history... More

The lighthouse is in a stunning position just off the south Devon SW Coastal Path.Wonderful views of the coastline and the wildlife which inhabit it. We would highly recommend doing the tour to get the most out of your trip. The guide was an excellent source of information and there was plenty of time to explore inside and outside. A... More

Really fascinating and informative tour, the guide was fantastic. He also pointed out the seals on the rocks below. Very steep steps in the last section, but I managed to do it OK, but it is not for the faint hearted! Would definitely recommend.

A visit, especially on a beautiful day that is not to be missed. An exhilarating walk down from the car park leads you to the lighthouse. The story told by our guide "Hugh" was both exciting and very informative. With a small group of only 5 people it made the visit very personal. The story unfolds from the grounds around... More

This was an easy walk along a tarmac road to the lighthouse. The views were stunning and for someone getting over a broken ankle, the walk was great - not too steep and not too rough. The car park was £4 to park and was a perfect place for a picnic with far reaching views around the bay. The lighthouse... More
