Haven't been here for many years. There is a car park - 3.50p - and a long walk to the lighthouse. Guided tour on the hour every hour, but costs five pounds. No refreshments available anywhere!

Visited with children ages 7 and 9, and passed a lovely few hours here. The coastal walk from the car park to the lighthouse was an easy and picturesque 15 min flat stroll. Great place for wild-flower spotting. The lighthouse tour is v reasonable at...More

The commentary was pitched just right - interesting factual information about how the lighthouse was built and is operated, but not too long-winded. Even the teenagers pitched in and asked questions. The lighthouse is still in use & it was fascinating to see the light...More

Beautiful views from the lighthosue as well as nice hike. Well worth the visit. Excellent guide (Martin) will tell you about the history and you can view the Fresnel lenses from close by.

We had often looked at the lighthouse from afar and decided to take our kids, aged 4 and 6, on the tour of the building. Our guide was brilliant, bringing the history of the lighthouse and surrounding coastline to life with stories and pictures. Our...More

Hugh was fantastic, my 4 year old was the only child in our group and Hugh made him the "leader" letting him go first and guide the rest of the adults around the lighthouse and really involved him in everything. George remembered lots of the...More

We took the plunge and visited on a windy day. What a fantastic walk and we also found a village that's partially disappeared into the sea!

The car park is normally staffed (there is a small fee to park) so I suspect it will have a closed gate at night, but please bear in mind this is a lighthouse visible for 20+ miles so you don't need to park in the car park... More
