If you are a Civil War enthusiast, you will want to make this a part of your itinerary. Lookout Mountain and the control of Chattanooga was probably the most important aspect of the war.

So pretty it's hard to believe cast iron cannons were dragged up the mountain and used in battle in 1863. Very good views!

Drive to the park and pay the meter to cover 30-60 minutes depending on how fast you walk, read, and take pictures. Fantastic views of Chattanooga and area. $3 per person to get in. Also in the area are some very nice houses to glance...More
