Good honest pub food in a beautiful setting. Friendly and efficient service. I'd recommend it for anyone visiting Buckfastleigh who doesn't mind a 3 mile drive or walk into the hills to enjoy good food and beautiful views.

Had lunch here one week day but the food was very generic, boring and no imagination was used whatsoever. Although reasonably priced, it was tasteless and the pub lacked any atmosphere or ambience. Bland all round. Would not recommend.

We found this lovely free house by accident but will definitely be going back. The landlord and landlady where very friendly and the food was all homemade and tasted fantastic, probably one of the best fish pies we've had. It's well worth a visit.

We stayed overnight whilst doing the Two Moors Way. We had a good welcome when we arrived and enjoyed our stay. Our room was compact, but well furnished and comfortable. Food was good and cider local and good. Tasty breakfast and good packed lunches.

Clean, good sized rooms and well cooked food; enjoyed breakfast with the fine views over the valley. Well positioned between Chagford and Ivybridge if you're doing the two Moors way. Very friendly staff, interesting discussion about Scoriton only having one "r." After an extreme days...More

Wanted somewhere half way between Exeter and Plymouth to meet. This was an excellent choice. Gorgeous feel to the place, lovely food (it was pie night), wonderful staff and resident dog. It was dark, but I can imagine during the day it’s in gorgeous surroundings....More
