Brixham Heritage Museum was delighted to be awarded a Trip Advisor Certificate of Excellence for 2015, the third year running, thank you all for making this possible! We were also joint winners of the Family Friendly Museum Award in 2013,despite nationwide competition. We offer a choice of activities which are suitable for a variety of ages, and we hold many 'special days' both within and outside of our Museum. There are opportunities to become amateur archaeologists, no matter how young, and many other "hands-on" experiences are found on both floor levels inside the building. For all visitors there are a variety of displays ranging from the prehistoric to the 1950s, with particular emphasis on the maritime industry of the area. We also offer Family History Research for all areas, and hold regular talks and social activities. For further information please view our website.

Entrance is free and the people are very helpful and kind. Very informative. They even helped me find out more details about a sailing sloop that one of my ancestors sailed in Brixham. I loved this place and will come back.

Came here to kill some time on a visit to Brixham and was definitely not disappointed! The free admission (suggested donation £2.50) really stands out as many of the Bay's attractions are on the expensive/overpriced side. Enjoyed seeing the fossils from Brixham caverns (sadly closed...More

There is a surprising amount of history to Brixham, from neolithic tools to wartime relics. There is a lot of information about smugglers and the revenue agents who hunted them. A very interesting place to visit.

Only small but free and crammed with information and artefacts. Always worth returning as I noticed at least four changes from my last visit. And it doesn't cost a penny!
