We love low tide Bigbury in the winter. A lovely way to stretch your legs walking up the Avon river valley. Give Venus pasties a miss and enjoy a coffee looking out to sea. The beach is clean and the dogs can run freely. Recommended

Although it's winter, on a nice sunny day it's a lovely place for a morning walk. Lots of people walking dogs and small children loving the sandy beach in the sun.

Lovely, clean beach with plenty of rock pools at low tide. There is a dog free zone, but in the other 2 areas, they're allowed all year round. Our 2 dogs and 3 year old had a fabulous time!!! Parking isn't free at the main car park, but if you're lucky, then you could get a spot on the lane... More

Was popping to modbury to stretch our legs and get a cream tea and thought we'd go via Bigbury On Sea. Glad we did as it was a stunning beach! Worth visiting!!!

Visited for the first time yesterday. Lovely sandy beach which is dog friendly. Plenty of parking. Café close to beach. Beautiful views up and down the coast and of Burgh Island. Will be back again and next time will cross to the island.

Part of the beach area is dog friendly; the waters are shallow so good for families. You can walk around part of the estuary during low tide and there are footpaths to take you inland. It's possible to walk across to the Pilchard Inn on Burgh Island when the tide's right.

Bigbury-on-Sea is our favourite local beach. The presence of the famous Agatha Christy hotel on Burgh Island adds mystery and charm to the Devon coastline. At low tide you can walk the sand bar to the island where the hotel and quaint Pilchard Inn are located. When the sea creates the island at high tide a special tractor chugs back... More

Devon has some lovely beaches and this is no exception. Quiet but well worth a visit. It has a good view of Burgh Island which is just offshore and can be reached on foot at low tide.
