The statue obviously commemorates a very significant moment in the history of the island. As a symbol, it is very potent. Unless perhaps you are from the greatest Jersey generation, however, it isn't really a place to linger once you have seen and photographed.

This area is a relaxing place to chill out and people watch. There are coffee shops nearby as well as snack shops so you can have a rest and relax for a while. Plenty of seats and an ambient atmosphere
We found Liberation Square a very nice place to relax especially when we came back from sight seeing during the day. It was ideally situated for us as our hotel was just across the road . Also a very historical venue.
