We did not do the banquet, but we toured the castle by ourselves. Another fun castle in Ireland. Very pretty. Be sure to walk around on the roof.

What's interesting about Ireland is that so much of the "old" remains. This is a perfect example: the remains of a castle built in 1520! Beautiful!!

We made a very brief photo stop here and I’m glad we did. Very picturesque and easy to make a quick (and free) stop. Be careful crossing the road, though.

The food, show and drinks (just wine, including mead) were meh. Not terrible, not great. We didn't regret going to this, but it wasn't a trip highlight either.

Our tour guide did a quick stop at Dunguaire Castle. This is a typical Norman tower built primarily for defense. We were able to take a quick walk around of the Castle grounds, a take a few pictures. As there was no charge for entry, the short stop was worth our time.

Lovely little castle to walk a round. Scenic views over Kinvarra Bay. Just round the corner from our Air B&B so a great place to relax and watch the sun set

Driving down the road, we saw this castle and quickly pulled into the car park. We were disappointed by the signs that said it was no longer open to visitors because of dangerous conditions. It is, however, a lovely old castle and you can walk around it and take pictures. The surrounding area is beautiful. There is a very interesting underground water spring. Nice for a quick stop - you do have to run across a busy road.

Beautiful castle. Didn’t pay to go in since we were short on time, but still were able to get nice pictures outside of the grounds.

Driving along the road and we saw this castle, car park across the street and reasonable entry fee of about €8, castle is small and not what I would call a major tourist attraction, there are three floors in the tower up some narrow stairs, nice view from the roof (if you are not afraid of heights) the ledge is very narrow and there is a gap. Takes about 30-45 minutes to tour, small gift shop on the ground floor.
While this is a commercial venture it is not overly touristy. Nice place to stop for a bit, stretch your legs and see a small castle.

I can only speak for myself when I say that it was impossible to not enjoy walking through this castle/tower house. As an American I can appreciate the history, the age, and the beauty of these tower homes, castles, and other historical structures. For about the same price as a latte, I got to see something I won’t see in Green Bay, Wisconsin, my partner had a custom necklace made and thoroughly enjoyed the process. When on vacation, you get to decide how you absorb your surroundings. We decided to leave expectations and preconceived notions back home:) 💚🍀
