Our last visit was in September, and it was too chilly to wade out in the water, so we took photos of the landscape instead. It's a huge beach, just before you reach Dún Aonghasa. Kilmurvy Beach is on the north side of the island,...More

The west of Ireland has some lovely beaches and this is a wonderful small example. The white sand flows into the pale blue sea, which is really pretty, it is a safe little beach and well worth a visit. The water will be colder than...More

We stopped and spent a few minutes at this little beach. It is pretty enough with its silvery sand and breathtaking surroundings. There were several people swimming even though it wasn’t hot out. Worth a few minutes if you are passing by.

Lovely safe place to have a swim - you cannot miss it on your trip around the island - clean pure water.

Rode to the beach from town on the high road and stopped for a while, very pretty. Would be nice during a hot day.

This is a gorgeous beach, with lovely views over towards Connemara. There are toilets marked on the map, however these were locked when I was there. Luckily there are cafes at the visitor centre at Dun Aonghasa just a few minutes away by bike!

We saw seals basking on this attractive beach. The whole area is most attractive with its narrow roads, horses and some attractive stone buildings including some white painted shops.

Very nice "blue flag" beach. Ireland's highest standard. Located at a cross roads where there are many historical sites to see. It was our starting point for a couple good hikes to the big fort and the worm hole.
