Very interesting piece of history. This is one of those places where you could just feel the history. The staff was very friendly and knowledgable. I would highly reccomend if in the area!

It was pretty nice there. I went with a giant group and as such didn't get much of a guided tour (we were allowed to free-roam) but it was pretty interesting to look at and the people there were kind. Probably wouldn't go back but...More

If you can’t make the Tennessee History Museum, you can get a good summation from the history of this house with its founding in the late 1700’s. A prize to have survived.

Enjoyed a guided tour of the mansion by a knowledgeable volunteer after viewing a movie. The gardens around the mansion are beautiful!

If you like historical sites with history and stories of interest this place will please you. Located right in downtown this is a must see while in Knoxville.

Went on Halloween Eve on a ghost tour. Was fantastic. Started in visitor center for an informative non formal question answer about history. Then went on tour, using flashlights, through the mansion hearing the history and what went on in the different rooms. A great...More

We can only recommend this "museum" when it's 60 degrees or colder. The visitor center, with its movies, is comfortable and interesting. Also the tour with the docent is interesting, but the oppressive heat made the visit less than enjoyable. Also, lots of trip hazards;...More

We had a lovely private tour of about 20 minutes. It was worth the visit. No you cannot walk to them and it would be a lot to do in one day.
