There is always something very interesting and educational going on and the fact it's free is a big plus! We go when it's not busy so it nice and quiet! Lovely little gift shop and very nice employees! We usually go several times a year!

We spent two hours learning about East Tennessee and viewing some Egyptian and Indian art exhibits. It's worth a visit, plus they had some interesting items in the gift shop. Parking can be a hassle.

This museum and facility were very nice. When we visited, there was a temporary exhibit of handmade quilts that was excellent. The exhibits were made mostly of signs telling you about the history with some artifacts. Not only was it free admission to the museum,...More

About 90 minutes to two hours would be a good length of time. Be sure to ask the parking attendant for a free tour hour pass.
