Buffalo mountain park offers several well maintained hiking trails that lead to wonderful vistas of both the Tennessee Valley and Unicoi Valley. If you decide to spend your day here I recommend the hike to white rocks and tip top. However, I imagine that most...More

Close to my house and a favorite place for hiking, I would rather keep this beautiful place to myself.

Depending on just what you want to see you'll have to work for it! But it is worth it! And there are various easier hikes.

The trails on Buffalo Mountain are nothing short of spectacular. The trails are technical and at times very steep. The rhododendrons and dense forest give Buffalo Mountain a magical feel to it.

You can take a short hike, maybe a half mile to a great view of the city or there are many longer trails for beautiful views. You can walk in nature or up a service road. Many great options depending on your fitness level.

This is a great hike right in our backyard in Johnson City. The hike provides great vistas throughout, and all worth the effort when you reach the top. Recommend for anyone that wants to spend some time exploring the outdoors in Johnson City.
