The park is clean & well maintained - including the restrooms. My friend & I go frequently to walk the path. I would have given it 5 stars, but there is a sign posted on the walking path indicating a lap is approximately 1.8 miles. IT IS NOT!! I had a pedometer app on my phone & my friend has a fit bit & we walked 3 complete laps after which both devices showed 2.4 miles. Apparently, the sign should read approximately 0.8 miles per lap. We still enjoy walking there & will continue to visit, but now we know the distance around the path & have adjusted the number of laps we walk accordingly.

Willow Springs Park is a beautiful, clean, spacious property that gives the visitor various options to pass the time during any season of the year. For the fitness-minded: paved paths for running/walking; a sandy volleyball court; a paved basketball court. For nature-lovers: a great view of the mountains, a natural path through the woods, a pond with fish and turtles, and, during late summer, blackberries for the picking! For families with children: a playground with picnic pavillion, a picnic table gazebo with an awesone view of the mountains
, and plenty of wide-open space to fly kites, throw ball, or spread a blanket for the little ones to play on. As a dog owner who is not a member of the private, gated dog park there, my beagle and I enjoy on-leash walks on the paths/trails and the convenience of the "clean-up stations" located throughout the park that are equipped with bags and waste bins.

There are no water fountains, so bring your own water. I have never seen "riff-raff" hanging out at this park but I always see families, couples, and individuals of varying races and ages having a great time enjoying this Johnson City jewel.

Willow Springs Park is a safe, family-friendly park that is a real treasure! The paved trails (with some unpaved that go through the woods, make for great walking and the scenery is unbeatable! The walking path is fairly flat, but with enough climb to make it a gentle workout. The playground is great for the little ones. All in all it doesn't get much better than this!

Just the view of Buffalo Mountain is worth the visit. The paths are wide, paved and well-maintained. It's about 3/4 of a mile around the perimeter path and internal branches that will easily allow a 2 mile or more walk or run without boredome. It is hilly, but come on, it's in northeast Tennessee and the grades are not especially challenging. There is also a nice playground for children and several picnic areas and fields to play soccer or toss a football. Dogs are welcome and there is plenty of room for them to walk on the paths without bothering others. The dog park is very nice, but it is privately funded and a membership must be purchased to access it. We were living in JC when the park was built and remember the nay-sayers who didn't think it was worth the money. They were wrong. It adds to significantly to the quality of life in JC and we return to it anytime we visit Johnson City.

This park is fantastic for walking. The path are wide and well maintained. There is even a part that you can walk in the woods. Love this new find. I don't have a dog, but there is a fantastic dog park also.

I am thrilled to have found this park. It's got it all. Huge (members only though) dog park, playground, extensive paved walking path. Small pond. Basketball court. And tons of open green space for picnics, flying kites, etc...

I like to walk at Willow Springs. It is in the city but has a country feel. There are hills to challenge, a trail through the woods and by a peaceful pond. There is also a dog park for those who want a safe place for fido to explore and play with other dogs. There is also a nice playground for human kiddos.

This park is nestled a the base of the mountains on the eastern edge of Johnson City Ten. They have a few playgrounds near the entrance of the park which were in good repair both times I visited in 7/2012 and 12/2013. The park has a small pond and tons of open grassy areas and paved trails with beautiful views of the mountain. The open areas are sweltering in the afternoon sun in the summer, including the playground but in the winter, it made for a perfect day in the sun. There are some wooded trails on the perimeter of the park as well. The park also boasts an enclosed dog park that was not fancy but the area seemed clean and well maintained. Only drawbacks would be not enough points of interests (playgrounds, fountains, fitness stops/equip, benches, statues, pavilions, etc) among the large expanse of the back of the park where all the paved trails wind through. I feel they could do something more with this open space (which could use some shadier areas too, but some planted trees still look young).
