Long Hunter State Park is one of Tennessee's lovely lakeside state parks, and it's close to Nashville. The peaceful hike around the lake is easy, level, and often quiet enough to see deer. There are several other trails, a campground, shelter houses, and a variety of natural activities. Long Hunter is one of my favorite retreats, just a short drive... More

This is such a great park for walking/running/hiking. There is a two mile paved track through the woods, making it a very accessible walk. My husband ran the trail a couple of times while everyone else walked. He said it was a great running trail. There is a pretty little bridge to walk over. We plan to return and try... More

Really like this place. Nice short trail to the lake. I take my dog here all year long to swim. The big open field is great. I haven't been to the ramp area but once. Seems nice as I remember.

Love the walking trail around lake. Very nice, feels safe--but never go alone unless, lots of families, joggers, walkers around. Great place for exercise and quiet contemplative walks. Nice place for picnics too and for fishing off docks.

There are great trails here. The Couchville Lake trail, Bryant's Grove, or just the lake itself. Spend the day, a few hours or the rest of your life! (Well, some of it)..

I have been here many times with friends or family. What a nice place to enjoy the scenery, conversation and get a bit of exercise in. They all have wonderful programs, check it out.

Love going out to Long Hunter. It's right on the lake and has it's own private lake where you can rent flat bottom boats during parts of the year. Great walking trail around the private lake and lots of access to bank fishing throughout the park. Often get to see lots of deer here too, especially if cruise through just... More

This is a beautiful piece of property, surprisingly saved from corporate greed and usury. Deer play here and people wander. There are some pretty well developed trails and a lot of boats throwing litter about, but otherwise the park is as peaceful and nice as if it were in a place where the residents cared about such things. Sometimes as... More

Long Hunter State Park is a great place for a walk anytime of year. Park has several trails. The 2-mile walk around Couch Lake on a paved trail is one of my favorite walks in the area. Often spot deer, blue heron and other birds here. Plus there's a picnic shelter with restrooms where one can take a break after... More

I love this park. It has a variety of trails. I always see deer and all sorts of critters. I launch my kayak at the boat ramp for some fun on the lake. Also not far from Mount Juliet.
