This is a really nice park, and a great place to walk around. Please be reverent as you think about the events of the Battle of Franklin. So glad there is a place to memorialize the Confederates.

The memorial plaques at this staging ground for the Battle of Franklin are a grim reminder of what this battle cost the Confederates. Combined with the Lotz & Carter House Tours it brings the full scene 'to life'.

In Sept. as a member of the United Daughters of Confederacy, I attended a dedication of a monument and wreath laying dedicated to the Missouri soldiers who died at the Battle of Franklin.. I was saddened by the number of Missouri Boys who died there. The park is beautiful, well maintained and very much worth visiting. Quiet and peaceful now and very informative about the Civil War. History happened no matter how we feel about it and these valiant men should not be forgotten, no matter what a person's views are on the causes of the Civil War.

There are a series of levels in this park. As you climb, you see more monuments and get to see more of the area around you. There are beautiful views of the countryside.

Easy to access, quick self-guided starting point for a visual of where the Battle of Franklin action took place. Then go through Carnton, Confederate Cemetary, Carter House, and Lotz House tours--excellent guides and very informative. All doable in same day.

This restful park and walk trail is located right next to the Winstead Hill Park so you can use the parking lot and take in both sites. Great informative signage for both Memorial Park and Winstead Hill park. Do stop here on your trip if only for the view of the town below.

If you want to get an idea of what the Confederate army faced marching toward the disaster at the battle of Franklin, you can see it here. Monuments to the 5 dead generals and a good interpretation of the battle. A great stop on your tour of the Battle of Franklin.

You can really see where the battle took place from an un- obstructed view of then entire area. Not hard to imagine what Hood saw as the battle began. The monument itself needs some work, fresh paint and polish on the brass maps showing battle details

This is just park that is on the spot where the Confederates over ran some poor unfortante Union troops were left without support. It is also where thr Confederate launched their poorly planned but valiant attack. It will give you a very good view of the countryside. It has been updated and has a lot of markers and maps to show how Franklin looked at the time of the battle. So, please make the park at Winstead Hill your first stop.
