    Charming Downtown
Our family so enjoyed walking the streets of downtown Franklin. Window shopping or selecting a store to enter was so enjoyable. Everyone was so warm and welcoming-whether we just browsed or actually purchased something. The downtown stores were enticing to look at and enter and beautifully decorated. We wished we could have had longer time perusing. the charming downtown area.

    Franklin, TN
This was our first trip to Franklin, TN. We traveled to visit family for Christmas holiday and stopped in Franklin on our first leg as well as the trip back home. We stayed at The Harpeth Hotel Downtown on both visits and we were very satisfied with the hotel and accommodations. Historic downtown Franklin is easily walkable and there are many nice restaurants and pubs, quaint and unique shops and a fabulous historic theater that featured different Christmas movies each day. For dining, we enjoyed meals at "1799" (located in the Harpeth Hotel), The Red Pony, Gray's on Main, Cork & Cow, and Puckett's Downtown. We also stopped by JJ's Wine Bar, Scouts Pub, O' Be Joyful, Hop House, Americana Taphouse during our stay. For travelers who are on a strict budget, be forewarned everything is somewhat pricey in Franklin. We paid state, city and county taxes on everything which came pretty close to 10%.

    Like being in Hallmark movie
If you ever wanted to walk into a hallmark movie, this is the place. Small specialty shops, ice cream, candy shops & old time theater. My favorite was Savory spice. So many spice you can’t find at groceries like Whole Foods or trader joe.

I honestly haven’t seen a more beautiful town ever. It’s like you have walked onto a film set. I can only imagine at Christmas time it’s off the chart.

Although Franklin is teeming with a number of restaurants and quite a few coffee shops the unique local shops have seemed to dwindle. We used to love to visit these wonderful little shops and bring home a few items. Did Covid or online shopping have a hand in this? Who knows? It’s still is a very historic place with tons of Civil War history and great places to eat. As I recall they have one of the top per capital incomes in the United States. It’s not a cheap place to live. We actually found more interesting shops in Bell Buckle and to an extent Murfreesboro. We still love Franklin but more for its history and especially Puckett’s and Merridee’s although I do love their coffee shops. But the shops are not the same.

Lots of fun shops and little restaurants to enjoy. Wish we had allowed more time to spend wandering the streets.

Super great way to kill some time and visit some awesome small businesses. It’s very quaint with lots of places to eat and interesting stores. Lots weren’t overpriced either, which I found refreshing. I would definitely go back again!

The perfect country town located 40 minutes from Downtown Nashville. Beautiful buildings, incredible civil war history, lovely people and amazing restaurant / shops. Go past the visitor’s centre for some self -guided walking tours and information about the local civil war houses.
