A must see if your in Franklin. This site lays out the battle of Franklin and and explains how the battle was fought and the aftermath that followed. It's free and a nice place to spend an afternoon.

I would not put it up with the major battleships, so visit just for a picnic park or if you are really interested in delving into all the local battles of the civil war.

Great little park with memorials and a bronze relief map showing the battle of Franklin. At the top you can observe what the southern generals observed prior to the battle. A must if you're following the battle of Franklin Civil war "trail".

This is a great place for one to begin a walking/driving tour of the Battle of Franklin. Nice observation post and several Confederate markers and tablets to see.

Nice small park with open spaces, picnic tables, paved walking path and Civil War history. We saw deer on the walking path and plenty of birds. Walk to the top of the stairs for Civil War memorials and see the view generals had over the...More

Visiting Winstead Hill is a great way to get a feel for the area where the Battle of Franklin was fought. In a natural setting with trees, walking trail and picnic area. Restrooms too! As you climb the steps to the top of the hill...More

this is no politically correct stop-it honors the Confederate dead in the Battle of Franklin-as it should be. Use your imagination as you look out from this hill and see the Confederate generals debating the upcoming battle. You get a great sense of quiet history...More

Nice area, lots of history. The relief map showing the Battle of Franklin under the covered shelter is interesting. Nice walking trail.
