Amazing views but the view was sort of obstructed by the chain length fence. They’ve obviously had a problem with people jumping. There’s a crisis call button and a sign for a mental crisis hotline number. It made the experience a little sad.

Wow – what a pretty drive out from Nashville to check out this bridge. Made for some nice family photos – there are photo ops above and below. Would love to drive more of this parkway as I’m sure there is more to see than we did.

Really perfect place to take sunrise photos. There are plenty of places to park your car at the entrance of the bridge.

The bridge is best seen from below at the park called "Birdsong Hollow" that is on the entrance to (and exit from) the Natchez Trace Parkway from Franklin, TN.

Finding the entrance can be a bit tricky but once I was up there it was a nice drive. There were a lot of people walking across it. It's in a lovely rural spot, with nice views from the bridge.

We rode the Trace from Franklin to Jackson. This was a great way to start the trip - the view was great and was one of the highlights of an outstanding ride.

Longest parkway in the USA. Was famous up until the Civil War. It stretched from Nashville to New Orleans. Made trade unique what foreign goods in and American goods out. Furniture, tobacco, cloth.
Lots a trees. Some rest stops. Can't go 80 mph.

We went at the beginning of November. The colorful leaves made the enjoyable scenic drive that much more beautiful.
There is a small parking lot on the northwest side of the bridge so you can pull off and walk a short distance to take photos and enjoy the view.

Start your day by getting to the Loveless Cafe early for an outstanding breakfast experience, then punch up the Natchez Trace Parkway Bridge on your GPS device, and drive the 10 -15 minutes to the base of the bridge. Once you pass underneath the bridge, hang an immediate right to find pull off parking near the National Park sign.
The bridge is an engineering marvel that blends in seamlessly with the valley here. In doing some research about the bridge we found out that it was built in 1993 at a cost of $11.3 million. It has won several awards including being honored as the single most outstanding achievement in the bridge industry for 1994. The bridge is the first segmentally constructed concrete arch bridge in the United States.
After you view the base of the bridge, follow on the entry road to enter the parkway. We hopped on then headed the short distance toward the end of the parkway as it exits onto Route 100 back to Nashville. The parkway is simply beautiful. Now having seen a small part of it, my wife and I have vowed to do the entire route from Nashville to Mississippi. The parkway has a zen like affect, and I think the both of us could use a respite like this.
Please make sure you view the bridge from the base. If you simply drive over it to see the views of the valley, you totally miss what you are driving across. It's only when you view the bridge from the bottom, that you can absorb the amazing feat of man that created such a beautiful structure.
Sadly, Wikipedia reports that "since its construction, the Natchez Trace Parkway Bridge has become known locally as a "suicide bridge". Suicide prevention signs were posted in 2011 but the deaths continue as the bridge’s low railings do not deter jumpers. According to the Williamson County Sheriff, at least 30 people have successfully committed suicide by jumping from the bridge, as of January 2018."

This drive is right up the road from the Loveless Cafe so we rolled down the windows, enjoyed the fresh spring air and took in the beauty.

What is the best way to access this bridge? I can never find it. Also is there a walking trail?
