Overview
More
This park is a great balance between the brief but ever-so important history of Sycamore Shoals and great hiking. There are points along the trail to help hikers understand what occurred at Sycamore Shoals and why it was so important. This park also has an amphitheater which hosts all sorts of events. More information on this park and many more can be found at the TN State Parks website.

We traveled over 200 miles to attend the outdoor drama, Freedom! The Saga of Sycamore Shoals. It was well worth the travel! It was fantastic, with a cast of at least 100 people, attention to historic detail and great special effects. We highly recommend it....More

Truly enjoyable to see the historic recreations. Very educational. I saw the Sons of Liberty as they performed Patriotic favorites.

Stopped in to look at the fort. Had no idea there was a reanactment going on and we arrived just as it started. Perfect timing! Happy to see the efforts of those who worked putting together this event for the public.

This is great news! We're excited you were able to see a reenactment. We work hard to provide historical interpretive programming. Hope to see you again!

Gorgeous fort, educational bliss, & artistic achievement. While, I always emotionally suffer for the Native Americans, this was a victory for the frontiersmen; the setting & history is the makings of real movie thrills.

Quaint facilities and very helpful folks at the desk. The gift shop has some nice glass items. The walks surrounding the fort and river are very nice. Great for bird watching.

A great place for children to visit and learn of the early history of the area. The museum the fully of interesting things. The fort is fun to visit. The drama in July is a must to see the reenactment of the settlement.

I've grown up across the river from Sycamore Shoals. I now take my children here to learn about our history and spend some time in the great outdoors.

Gives you the background of how things came to be what they are today. Exhibits telling different stories of what happened in the area. People tend not to view history as important as it is but for those who appreciate it, worth a trip
