We visited here today with intentions of scoping out a future hike or family picnic. We drove through the perimeter where vehicles are allowed — including the boat ramp launch area — and walked through the rustic historic log cabin used as a small meeting space. There are about ten different hiking and/or bilking trails (co-shared — hikers are encouraged not to wear ear buds while walking in order to be more aware of possible approaching bikers). Very scenic routes for the trails including along a river/stream. One unique aspect of the park is a designated area for clubs or individuals to operate Remote Control Dirt Racers.

Chickasaw Trace County Park is an absolutely wonderful and very family friendly park. They are located in one of the most beautiful areas with woods and solitude around it. As you enter the park, you are greeted by a beautiful old log cabin. This log cabin has been the center of many weddings and makes for a beautiful photo shoot. There are plenty of playground areas. The Duck River is within walking distance as you trail walk alongside of it. There is also a boat dock within the park area. There is also a model airplane strip and area for flying hobby planes. It is a quiet park and one I feel anyone would enjoy. Wonderful area for walking as well.

We enjoy the extensive mountain bike trails at Chickasaw Trace, but there are some caveats. No signs direct you to the entrance to the trails when you enter the main park, which also has an old log cabin, radio controlled airplane flying area, and picnic pavilions. A map of the meandering trails offered are on a message board at the entrance, but it is hard to use since no signs tell you how to get to which trail other than one "entrance" marker. While on the trails, you will often come to intersections that are not marked, leaving you wondering which way is the right direction. Even the "emergency" exits are not well marked. The last time I was there with my son we were sort of lost and saw another father and son in pretty much the same boat. We escaped by forging through a waist high field of grass to get to the airplane flying area and luckily knew how to get back to the truck. These trails are used by the cycling club for races in which the courses change from month to month, but I wish there were more permanent signs left for the casual users during the week so we'd know where we were.

The trail is a challenging ride with four miles of smoothness to warm up with before heading into a nice heart pumping workout through the trail of tears section. This trail provides nice flats in the beginning and tough short and longer climbs afterwards with a good mix of various technical features to give a good mix of variety. Looking forward to visiting there again soon when I have the time.

My nephew and I live to give fishing and just hang out at this place. It is so quiet and pleasant. We never seem to have a time visiting the place without bringing in a few fish to cook for dinner. I encourage anyone to go and see this quiet place for yourself. Becky B.

Great place to go biking but I walk my dogs on the trails. One trail follows the beautiful Duck River; also, there is an area perfect for fishing, too. What is strange is that the park backs up to a landfill but remains hidden - thank goodness! Still, the park is a lovely place to walk, bike, and enjoy nature.

We walk here on the trail by the river. It is a beautiful place to walk although the trail is not easy since there are roots and some difficult areas for those who might be less agile than others. Another problem for those on foot is to be alert to bikes that come up from behind. Enjoy walking. Just be careful.

I'm out on the trail about 30 times a year-running and hiking. Have met people from Nashville, Dickson, Huntsville, Chattanooga(150 miles away) who come to do a couple of laps on bike then drive home.
Lots of families come to just walk, play in Knob Creek, camp, picnic, fish, etc.
High school mountain bike teams(NICA) use the park as one of their four trails for the State series.
A great place to meet and make new friends!

This park is a great place to spend the day with your family. We enjoy the mountain bike trails. It is one of the best trails in the region and is always very well-kept by the local club. The trail is great for hiking and trail running as well. The park hosts the Chickasaw Trace Classic mountain bike race and Jailbreak Triathlon, both of which are great events. We have been doing events at this park for 15 years and will always keep coming back to Columbia because of these trails. There is also a boat ramp into the Duck River, RC car track, RC airplane field and picnic shelter areas so there is something to do for everyone and plenty of things to make an entire day out of it.

Great trail for mountain biking or hiking. Being so close to Columbia makes it extra special. As a bike trail it has a little of everything. Some fast and flowing, some climbing, and a roller coaster section. I would rate it as an intermediate trail with very scenic easy sections along the river. The trail is always well maintained, with the club using a volunteer trail adoption system to keep it well trimmed in the summer. Restaurants and hotels are close by which make it ideal for out of town visitors.
