Great meeting and training facility - big rooms and the lobby is filled with space artifacts from Challenger and other space expeditions. There are models too. This place would be fascinating for children but is pretty cool for adults too!

The story behind this center and the wonderful educational space simulations have made this one of my favorite field trip destinations. Our visit was supposed to be part of a larger home schooling group, but no one else showed. Since we were lacking enough participants, I was afraid they would cancel. A terrific experience, one of the highlights of an extraordinary 5 days which included an overnight in an amazing aquarium amongst other activities. The Learning Center is most efficiently organized so that the children participate in hands on activities which include weighing rocks found on "Mars", documenting findings and communicating with other participants via computers, and obeying instructions. This Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics center was a highlight of our week in Chattanooga with my 10-year old granddaughter. The center is a memorial to the Challenger Crew and was built with input from Dick Scobee's widow (who lives in the area) to stimulate interest in math and science. My son has been to summer camp here a couple of time. He enjoyed himself and was well taken care of. He learned lots, as did I. I loved learning that Dick Scobee's widow lives in Chattanooga.
