Go up to the creek after a day or two of rain and witness the raging waters. The scenery is beautiful and relaxing. Consider packing a lunch and have a picnic above the creek.

This body of water is beautiful. It spreads across expansive land areas but you can visit associated areas such as the river, lake, and park. My husband and I took our dog to a secluded bank area and just enjoyed sitting on the cool bank, picnicking while the dog enjoyed the water. A great mesh with nature.

You could make this a half day or all day trip. Depending on the weather, the water can be crystal clear. Also, it can be quite cold, but... More

Love this area. It is a little hard to get to some more private areas along the river bank. but the more public areas are easily accessible. Great view. Not too crowded and a good place to spread a blanket and relax.

We live in Chattanooga and we hike to what locals call "the blue hole" once or twice a year! The water is crystal clear and cold. Large bolders to jump from into the deep crystal clear water. The most popular rock to jump from is about a 30 minute hike from the parking area. We love this place and in... More

The North Chickamauga Pocket Wildeness is located about 20 minutes north of downtown Chattanooga off of the Thrasher Pike exit from US-27. It is a great spot for hiking or a picnic. The main hiking trail is moderately difficult, and passes by several would-be waterfalls if it has recently rained. It is an uphill trail to the top, then downhill... More
