My husband and I were visiting Chattanooga recently and enjoyed our walk across the Walnut Street bridge. The views from the bridge are lovely. There are great historical markers along the bridge, so if you enjoy history make sure you stop and read. We had a great time eating lunch at Taconnoga on Frazier Avenue, and then walking across the... More

This is a neat bridge with safe walking to get from one side of the river to the other. Great for walking or bicycling.

This is a lovely walk to do at sunset as the city lights up. Needs about 45 minutes to enjoy the sights and read the historic markers (which are ordered chronologically starting from downtown).

There are 3 bridges that you can walk over but this one is the only pedestrian only bridge. Such a nice walk and the ability to walk on both sides freely and capture pictures of the river and Chattanooga was great. Watch out for the runners.

I wouldn't call this worth visiting alone. ln others words not a singular attraction, it's more like a site to see after going to the aquarium or at the museum or the IMAX. Cool bridge walked it at night, much more relaxed atmosphere. Used by a lot of people.

This is the #1 place to see in Chattanooga. A very well maintained walking/ bicycling bridge (no vehicles) of panoramic views that connects lively downtown Chattanooga with the beautiful old North Shore of 2 large public riverside parks, old homes and boutique shops/ restaurants and other shopping.

This bridge is the poster-child for Chattanooga. It's a beautiful picture taking spot and if your in this city, you must see it! Rent a bike and ride across it and around it. The scenery is gorgeous, especially in the fall!

Snapshot ½ dozen selections of the bridge on a blustery, snow-flurried day. There was nothing unusual (architecture or engineering) about this pedestrian bridge. But it offered exceptional views. A must-see attraction when visiting ‘Nooga. For one thing it was free. Another, it connected to the funky North side. Great for jogging too!

It's free and fun to walk the bridge. Great area of town. I just loved the art museum on the bluff, the rowers on the river, the guy playing guitar on the bridge, and the cute little apartment buildings to look at. It was a great way to stretch our legs after a long day of driving. I would also... More

The Walnut Street Bridge is a pedestrian bridge that is a great walk across the Tennessee River. The bridge is more than 100 years old, and was changed into a pedestrian bridge in the 1990's. It can be crowded at some times, but is always a pleasure. And it's free!
