We went to lookout mountain and rode the incline railway there. Very spectacular views and history is told along the ride on the railway. Beautiful and we recommend doing this along with Ruby Falls and Rock City. They are close by.

This attraction is beautiful! The gardens and the natural formations are amazing, and the historical markers along the trails are an added bonus. The panoramic view at the See Seven States section is absolutely beautiful! We encountered a bat at the end of the Fairy...More

I have visited Lookout Mountain many time over the years. I have been to Rock City, Ruby Falls, and ridden the Incline Railway countless times over the years. The area is beautiful and somewhere that I will continue to go.

My favorite part of this unusual rock garden was at the very beginning of the trail where they have huge, HUGE boulders. Select areas are marked with a numbered marker where you can call a phone number provided, enter the marker number and the recording...More

This was the BEST part of our Chattanooga visit. There's a step thing off the mountain that you can go on to take a full view of the waterfall but it's scary yet safe. Perfect place for a couple or family picture. There's a place...More

This is a classic Tn spot. My 4yo loved the gardens and walking through all of the rock tunnels. Fairy tale land was pretty creepy imo but this is also a 60s tourist attraction so you have to expect something "different" to show up.

This was a great experience. Lookout mountain had waterfalls, suspension bridge (optional), gardens, variety of food selection, starbucks and much more. This does not take much physical activity to see all this which is nice for all ages. You could see all of this in...More

Be sure to go on one of the NPS tours, even if you are a Civil War buff. The info was great and well presented. The views are incredible. The walks can be long and steep, but you can enjoy the spot just fine from...More

The view from the point park at lookout mountain is gorgeous. Additionally, you get to learn about the history of the civil war soldiers using the landmark as a makeshift hospital and wonder and how thoughtlessly they just dangled their feet over the peak posing...More

Each attraction at Lookout Mountain has a price. It's nothing to drive up the mountain - but to get to the point where you can see the seven states is the entrance fee into Rock City. It's $20 to get in there. They have a... More

Are dogs allowed in the Park?

I know they are allowed on the trails around Point Park, but I don't recall any in the park proper. They are allowed on the Chickamauga battlefield and the Signal Mountain one.

Do you have to pay to just walk around Lookout Mountain? Or does it just cost to do Ruby Falls, Rock City Park, etc.

While you can see some of the view simply by driving up to the top, you do need to pay a small fee to access the area at the edge of the lookout, as it belongs to the National Park Service. If you have an annual pass, the... More
