Best part of my entire trip to Cancun
Nov 2020
Two words: ISLA CONTOY! I booked this tour for the social distancing factor that Isla Contoy offers. There are a maximum amount of visitors allowed to the island each day and while we were there, only about 20 people total were on the island. It was absolutely breathtaking! My favorite part of my entire time in Cancun. We spent about 3 hours on the Island, just relaxing in the water, listening to the soft waves, basking in the warm sun, and it felt like we had the entire place to ourselves! We did venture out into the lagoon area but beware, there are LOTS of mosquitoes!

Beautiful Island far away from everything
Jan 2020
This is a beautiful park/island that is host to thousands of frigate birds. There are also over a hundred other birds that occur there but we saw only 5 species in total. That was quite disappointing but nature does what it does.

Relaxing Afternoon on Isla Contoy Beach
Dec 2019
We visited on December 15th and soaked up this island gem about an hour's catamaran ride from the marina north of Cancun's hotel zone. Isla Contoy is an island paradise that looks straight out of movie. For the better part of an afternoon, our boatload of about 20 had the beach to ourselves. It is a short, easy walk to the high point for a spectacular 360 view of the windward and leeward sides. We saw lots of frigate birds, iguanas and dozens of hermit crabs. Grateful we made the time to visit Isla Contoy.

Full day out, stunning scenery and beach
Dec 2019 • Friends
This is an excellent day out, trip starts with coffee and continental breakfast, before boarding the large boat.
These is a stop for snorkelling on a reef, all equipment is supplied and in good condition.
This is for stronger swimmers as the current was quite strong, but we were able to see corals and fish.

The boat continues to the stunning island of Contoy.
This is a protected island with park rangers.

It’s absolutely beautiful with crystal clear water, white sandy beaches and palm trees.
We had about an hour here before the included lunch was served.
Fresh chicken and fish with salad and a very spicy Habanero salsa, drinks or beer also included.

After lunch there is a free walking tour or you can continue to swim and enjoy the wildlife.
I took some close ups of pelicans and and the beautiful scenery.

This was definitely the highlight of the tour .

After lunch we headed to Isla Mujeres, this is a large and commercial island with many tourist shops, bars, and we stopped at the north beach for a quick swim.

We stated on this island for about an hour.

The boat then continues to the mainland, the journey seemed to fly past as the feee bar was now in full swing, with the staff showing off their dance moves, keep an eye out for William the star performer !

Overall an excellent day out, it’s a full day with pickup from our hotel about 0840 and we returned to our hotel about 1830

All the staff were very friendly and professional , speaking several languages fluently.

TUI tour from Riu Palace Costa Mujeres...
Jun 2019 • Couples
...started with a pick up at 0900 from our hotel. The trip cost $150 USD each to include Isla Contoy, snorkelling and a short stop to Isla Mujeres on the way home. Our guides for the day (Damion & Lily) discussed the do’s & do nots on the short 10 minute trip to the marina on Costa Mujeres. Contoy is a protected island and therefore quite a few rules in place as you would expect, no smoking being one of the main ones for us!! The boat trip takes about 45 minutes through the crystal clear Caribbean waters, alcoholic & non alcoholic drink varieties are included. The captain anchored the boat about a mile from the coast of Contoy so we could snorkel on the reef for half an hour, plenty of fish & corals to be seen. We arrived on Contoy and were then given the option of guided tour for 20 minutes, we declined this to explore the wonders of the beach area. I don’t want to spoil the surprises, but the 3 odd hours we spent on the island were truly amazing. There is a video of our day on my FB page (Darren Paine, Brighton, UK, Mexico 2019 album) if you want a more detailed look at the island. We then headed off to Mujeres for a short stay of about a hour, before returning back to the mainland about 1700 ish. This was an amazing day and we would highly recommend if you are ever in Cancun. Damian, Lily and the boat crew were brilliant throughout the trip, couldn’t do enough for you. Happy holidays, The Paine family, Brighton, UK 😎🇲🇽🏖❤️

Best day out ever
Oct 2018 • Couples
My wife and I booked a day trip incorporating some snorkelling, a visit to Isla Contoy and Isla Mujeres. The whole day from start to finish was probably one of the best that we have ever experienced.

The trip was run by a company named Caribbean Connection and boy did we make a good choice.

Every single one of the guys went out of their way to ensure that the day was a memorable one. The food and alcohol was free flowing all day long (at least after the snorkelling).

But to top it all was the unspoilt beauty of Isla Contoy. Without a doubt one of the most idyllic places I have had the good fortune to visit. We had our lunch and spent some time on the beach before heading over to Isla Mujeres.

We then had our boat trip back to the port and this is where the trip was firmly etched into our memories forever.

The crew were all dressed as super heroes and entertained us for the whole trip every single one of us on the boat enjoyed every single minute of it. I couldn’t recommend the guys more highly the most enjoyable entertaining day ever.

Wild
Aug 2018 • Couples
Living wild And free! Wonderful small beach in a wild island! You can get there by boat (a 10$ taxes for each is required) from Cancun port (we travelled with Ocean tours)! We spent 2/3 of spare time in total relax! Is not permitted to walk around the island or better, to avoid it since the wild side is the habitat of boa snakes and crocodile!!!

Great option for visiting with the whole family.
Jul 2018 • Family
It worths the trip to visit the island, my only recommendation is when you pick your place in the boat, if you suffer of motion sickness, make sure you take the sits in front of the boat and looking forward, away from the smell of the gasoline that might make you feel sick.

Make sure you have breakfast before sailing, because you will have your lunch between 2:30 and 4:00 pm depending on the arrival time of your boat to the island.

The beach is beautiful.

Amazing island bird sanctuary surrounded by coral reef and clear blue water!
Dec 2017 • Friends
Took a 1\2 day trip to this beautiful island not from Cancun. Home to thousands of migratory birds, surrounded by gorgeous blue waters. Our trip also included lunch on the island which was phenomenal.
