We stopped in Rapid City, SD. The Black Hills are beautiful in the summertime. We took the opportunity to play golf at aurguably the best course in the State. It deserves the accolades. Wonderful track. Lots of elevation changes and undulating greens. On top of that, a very friendly staff. Do play there.

While visiting from Indiana, my son who plays on his HS golf team wanted to play the best course he could find in the area. After dragging his clubs over 1000 miles with us, he had such a good time early in our vacation he went back to play again. On the second time, the course had a tournament going out so he couldn’t get a whole 9 in, but they let him and his friend play as much as they could before the tournament started for free. Great customer service!

Scenic and peaceful golf experience. First time on this course and will be back. Front 9 great, back much more challenging but a lot of fun. The course is in great shape. Got a great coupon deal, thanks to all the staff.

In our quest to play golf in all 50 states, we chose The Golf Club at Red Rock for South Dakota. The course was in beautiful condition, greens were fast and undulating. GPS on the carts were helpful. The staff were friendly and welcoming. We found the price of $100 per person inconsistent with comparable courses. As a couple never having played the course, tee boxes were tricky to find, cart paths were incomplete and only porta potties on the grounds. For the price, you would not expect these oversights.

Your greeted by a friendly staff that helps get you where you're going and the course is in beautiful shape with wonderful views of the Black Hills. Definitely a must play and enjoyable experience.

This is an awesome golf course with incredible scenery and views of the area. You definitely want to spend the extra money to rent a golf cart as it would be a strenuous one to walk, lots of hills. Staff is accomodating and friendly, golf course is well-kept and challenging. My husband golfs here everytime we are in Rapid City.

This is a truly beautiful course that is very challenging with a lot of Blind spots but was so much fun to play even though I think I lost a whole box of golf balls!

Played 18 holes, first out in the morning which had some mist and fog, it was that way for 3 straight mornings. The course is in good condition, tee boxes could be better, several are “humped” the greens are very true and fast. Course knowledge would be a tremendous help and it’s a course that would be better the second time. Requires you hit every club and don’t miss the green in the wrong spot. Staff were really nice and helpful. Would recommend to golfers of all levels.

We had one more round of golf to play on our trip and chose The Golf Club at Red Rock, less than an hour from our Deadwood hotel.
What we found was a terrific course that featured well manicured fairways, quick and undulating greens and a great layout.
The staff is friendly and helpful. The driving range was being hand-picked so we couldn't hit drivers, but it was a good place to warm up.
We started on the back nine and were confronted with a variety of holes that tested one's ability to hit precise shots and read subtle breaks in greens. The front nine was more of the same. The carts feature GPS screens that help you figure out where to hit the ball, but the layout has many semi-blind shots, so don't be afraid to take the cart up from the tee to look where you're hitting.
We didn't eat at the course, but they had several beers on tap for post-round enjoyment.
If you're looking for a great day of golf, I would gladly recommend Red Rock.
